After finishing my Padme art project in 2018, of course I wanted to do a Leia version of the project too. I actually did start on this – you can see the ones I did back then on the Star Wars art page. But I really wasn’t happy with the results, and after I did a few, I quit. Plus we had just moved and life was chaotic, so after doing 9, I dropped it.
Of course ideas never really die. Earlier this year (2026), I started pulling up some of the original Padme pieces from 2018 to simplify them. I now had an ipad and Procreate, so I brought the original files into Procreate, redrew the line work and gave them solid coloring, with the idea of making some stickers from them. But… if I’m going to make some Padme stickers as swag, I really want some Leia ones too, right?
“I’ll just do a few” I told myself, just the ones I’d want to print as stickers. Simplified versions, nothing elaborate, just black linework and solid colors. But I had so much fun doing the first few that then I was like, “OK I guess I’ll do all the Original trilogy/sequel trilogy costumes.” And then of course it became, “well, maybe I can dig up 50 Leia costumes to draw so I have a nice round number…” LOL I did lean HEAVILY on my own costumes as reference, which made these go faster.
So here it is – it is currently sitting at 50 but there will likely be more, because now I kinda want to do my interpretations of some of the book costumes…
Also I struggled with how to present these “in order”. For now, there’s not really an order. I started out with movie canon costumes for now. I’m adding ones most recently finished to the bottom – once I’m finished with the project, I’ll come back and reorganize them so I’m not having to reorganize every time I update.
Also, some of the newer ones at the bottom are just going to link back to the blog post where they are posted for now, until I have time to build their individual pages.
