deep breaths

Ok wow a lot has happened since my last post.

I’m not sure how much I want to say here right now – I don’t think anybody related to any of this would ever see my blog. But just in case, you know, I’m going to wait a bit before I say.

But I will say it’s fucking amazing news and I am so excited!!

But a lot of anxiety came with that excitement. I was a basket case last week. I cried. I lost sleep. I think we got the insurance stuff with my upcoming dental stuff fairly squared away after talking through it with several people – that was the biggest source of the anxiety but it’s only tangentially related to what is going on.

Anyway, I’ll spill the beans in a week or two, once everything is official.

Rogue!

I really love the way the wig looks in this one.

Had a heart attack moment yesterday when the hard drive stopped working, neither Chase or I could see the files. Thank goodness he got it fixed or I would’ve lost all of the new photos.

SPACE MUTINY!

I did actually take some pics hula hooping but my face looks insane in them LOL

Saturday we shot Morticia. We were supposed to get all of this rain from the hurricane, but it went the other way, so we got like 30 seconds of drizzle. Disappointing!

Anyway, shot some videos of Morticia while I was in it. Worked on cleaning out the old office upstairs a bit. Cooked our home chef for dinner and the potatoes were SO undercooked they basically tasted like raw potato! We had to nuke them. Sunday morning I looked at the recipe again and discovered I missed a whole step of putting them in the over for 15-20 minutes LOL

Sunday we went out to Rogue’s Gallery/Nae Nae Con at Abandoned Antiques! A convention in an antique mall? Hell yeah!

I could not decide what to wear so Sunday morning I put a poll on IG and let the people decide. Picnic won.

Found some good light. I wore my disneybound flats with this instead of the heels. My feet thanked me.

Chase got a lot of compliments on his Dungeon Crawler Carl shirt.

Checked out the con booths and artists and bought a christmas present for Ash LOL Then wandered around the antique mall for a while.

ME!

Afterwards we ran through McDonalds for a snack, just fries and a coke for me and a cheeseburger for Chase. We mobile ordered – gave our number at the speaker – then sat in the line for nearly a half hour. When we finally got to the window, they tried to give us the wrong meal. Gave them the receipt and they came back with our food. The fries were stale and lukewarm. But the coke was the worst – it tasted like they ran out of coke, sent somebody to the store to buy some flat 2 liters and were just serving it room temperature with some ice dumped in it. It was DISGUSTING. Flat room temp coke! Ew! So that was disappointing.

(Also it was a good 25 minute ride out to this place, so I went fully in costume with my wig held up in a clip – but then I changed afterwards because I wasn’t going to suffer through another 25 minute car ride in a corset and a wig again! So at least I wasn’t stuck in Padme while stuck in the half hour McDonald’s line.)

Then we met my parents for dinner at Butcher Shop – had a steak, the leftovers of which is my lunch today.

Two purchases this week using bday money…

I was dicking around on Disney Store as I often do I spotted this Leia themed romper jumpsuit. It was from their May the 4th release, but now it was on sale for half off. Every time I’ve tried a romper on I hate how it fits, but I decided for half off, let’s chance it. I can return it if I don’t like it.

It actually fits! It’s cute! I was so shocked! LOL
I like how the model on the site is styled with brown boots and a brown belt, so I’m going to do that too. I don’t know if I’ll do buns with it or like, bespin hair maybe?

And I bought a Twin Peaks Black Lodge sweater but don’t have any pics of it yet. Will be wearing it this weekend – temps are finally dropping!

I’ve got two more costume things to do this month – Halloween, of course, and a trooping event. Kinda thinking about pulling Boushh out for the trooping thing, but if not, I think maybe Liberty Dies Padme maybe? I think that and Breha are the only RL costumes I have approved that I haven’t trooped in. Oh and Cato Neimoidia Leia.

Anyway, all that to say, I’m really going to dig into getting the upstairs organized and cleaned up, since I don’t need to have costumes sitting out for a while anymore. Yay.
