I have a to-do list even though we’re on the wrong side of the convention, haha.
But I have a few things I need to get done over this weekend — I’m doing an event in Amidala next weekend, so she needs some attention. And while I have it on we are going to do a white backdrop photoshoot, and also do Bespin Leia at the same time (and probably also Dolores, and maybe Tightrope Walker? Going to shoot 4 all together.) I’m trying to get as much done this weekend as possible because two nights next week I’ll be out of pocket and won’t be able to work on much.
So for Amidala…
1. Clean the dress. The dress has only ever been spot-cleaned… I haven’t worn it outside a ton so it hasn’t needed much, but it’s looking a little grungey. Going to give it a light hand-washing hopefully tonight and that should take care of it.
2. Redye the lower petals. Before I wore it to the Generals game in 2015, I scrubbed the bottom petals clean, and lost some colour. A quick dip in some pink dye will fix it.
3. Remake or fix current tiara. Chase had an idea to remake it which didn’t pan out… going to run by the craft store this weekend and see if I can find something that will work, he’s also brainstorming new ideas. If this doesn’t work out, I’m going to just remove the old black ribbons from the sides and replace them with chains to clean up the look a little. Won’t be able to do anything about the missing beads towards the center though. Hopefully will be able to make a new one.
4. Make a new hairpiece. Back in 2010 when I was planning on wearing this at WSMI I started making a hairpiece so I wouldn’t have to use my own hair. I realized it wasn’t working and abandoned it. I think I have a gameplan to make something that will be quick, easy, and look pretty good. We’ll see.

Bespin Leia…
1. Shorten the tunic! Before the con I was like, eh, it’s a little long but I think I can get away with it. After the con I look at photos and I’m like daaaaaaang it’s way too long. I already talked about this a bit in other posts so I’m not going to rehash it here.
2. Fix my pleating. Hopefully this will be an easy fix but the sides aren’t sitting right – I blame my dressform LOL. I also want to tweak the way the front is hanging and hopefully help it look a little better… may not be able to do much with the stretched panel but I can try.
I think that’s it for now, should be all I need to tweak before taking photos next week.
