I’m still here, arm’s still intact. Just been involved in the flickr to smugmug move during the day and sewing at night so I haven’t really had a chance to do much updating.
Also really haven’t had much to post. I’ve been struggling with the pink dress and feeling stymied by it almost every day. I went to dye my silk for the underskirt and it did not turn out well. I’ve had to do two rounds of colour removal + new dye and I’m still not happy with it, and I don’t want to put through another round of dye and risk destroying it!
I’ve just had a hard time wrapping my head around the bodice construction, too. I think I’ve finally got a handle on it and I’m hoping to get some good headway made tonight. I got all my velvet cut last night. I had to do the back skirt panels going a different way than the front which SUCKS but it was the only way I could manage it. Couldn’t afford another 3 yards of fabric to get it cut the same way.
I did pick up several different cuts of ancillary fabrics for it over the weekend which I’m really excited about so at the moment that’s the only thing keeping me going.
