It’s that time of the year, the time of the year when I can’t make up my mind about what costumes I want to take to Dragoncon with me.
Currently…
1. Captain Marvel – For sure! I have all my fabric, just need to find a base pair of boots, buy a zipper and some buttons and I have everything I need.
2. Donna Unicorn & Wasp – obvious if you’ve been watching my blog.
3. Surprise – I’ve got some of my fabric. Pretty sure I will be able to finish this but for now waiting til I say what it is.
4. Janet Snakehole – I’m finished with this costume!!! Well except buying a wig and attaching my hat to a headband.
5. Surprise #2 – this one I’m definitely not announcing because I seriously don’t know if I feel up to tackling it. I may just leave it at the previous 4 and take it easy this year. TECHNICALLY Queen Aelsa was my 5th “new” dragoncon costume, I just made sure I had it done in time for Memphis Comic Expo. So I won’t be too sad if I leave it out for now.
6. Queen Aelsa – Just need to put some padding on my ears so they aren’t digging into my head and it’s good to go.
7. Johanna – I didn’t get to wear it much last year. Wore it for a photoshoot wednesday night and for like, an hour sunday morning. I’d really like to wear it again and get some pics with other hunger games costumers… but it’s such a pain to put on. And it’s sweaty. But it’s a possibility. I’m at like, 60% sure it may come with me.
8. Anne Boleyn – Again, I dumped a whole lot of work into this last year to only wear it for a couple of hours Friday last year. I need to re-enforce the skirt where it’s stitched onto the bodice, and I’d like to try to make the hood. I’m pretty sure this one is coming back. I’d say 95% likely.
9. Donna Fires of Pompeii – super comfy but I need to fix the trim attachment and shorten the hem. Not a lot of work. Just – nobody cares about this costume. I may fix it, throw it in my bin, and have it just in case I need something super comfy. 80% chance.
10. Glimmer – I’d like to do the MOTU photoshoot. Honestly this just depends on whether or not I have room to pack this in my bins, because it takes up a lot of space. 45% chance.
11. Wasp – I’ve never worn it there with my wings (finished them for GMX after it debuted at Dragoncon in 2012). Might be fun. It’s a comfy costume. 60% chance.
12. Peggy – I want to take up the jacket and restyle the wig. This is probably coming for sure unless I manage to totally destroy the jacket in trying to take it up (oh god I Hope that doesn’t happen). 100% chance
Other possibilities…
Rogue as Ms Marvel – I don’t have a lot of pics of this, and didn’t wear it long there last year (the latex was irritating me). So maybe try again? Might bring this instead of Wasp (smaller to pack)
Donna wedding – I’m already bringing a lot of Donnas. But it’s more recognizable than fires of pompeii, so maybe switch those out?
Trillian – just because it’s comfy and i’d like to wear it again. Maybe no wig again.
