Dcon 2014: Peggy Carter costume

First wrap-up on one of the new costumes – Peggy !

I was super pleased with how it came out. It was relatively comfortable – outside of being insanely hot. It wasn’t too bad as long as I was inside – even in the oven that is the Marriott – but outside was no bueno.

I had to leave both the USO Girls/WWII group and the Marvel universe shoots early because I was just melting. (Well, USO Girls/WWII I also had to leave early to take Cath some food, but still). I don’t know that I’ve ever been so hot in a costume as I was after the Marvel shoot though – I came back to the room and immediately just jumped into the bathtub and sat in cold water for a few minutes. UGH!

It really doesn’t need any adjustments or tweaks at all. I may take up the collar on the shirt again but that’s about it – and the wig probably just needs cleaned up after wearing it 3 times at the con. I’m hoping to take it out to the airshow here in October and get some photos.

Also I noticed – I see a resemblance to my paternal grandmother in this costume which I’ve never noticed before. I guess it’s the hair/makeup that helps, but it’s also a lot of facial structure. So that’s pretty cool.
