Dcon 2014: Johanna costume

Well, you know, I really wasn’t sure about how this was going to turn out. This was my stress costume this year that I was still slapping together at the 11th hour and had gotten to the point of, “I don’t care, just finish it,” you know?
So I was pretty surprised I actually liked how it turned out.

All that fabric DOES make me look like a marshmellow, and I forgot to wear my earrings — but otherwise I was surprised at how much I liked it.

I do need to go back and revisit the wig – it was too tight, and some of the “flair” on the back sticks out a bit too much. I may go back and see about tacking down the pleats… although I was going to do that with Meg, too and still haven’t. Some of the strips on the shirt need glued back down, and I never finished the shoes (I wore the Romana boots with it on Wednesday and just my plain black boots on Sunday).

But I looooooooove the photos Chase took on the 10th floor. Couldn’t be happier. I am disappointed I didn’t run into ANY of the other Hunger Games costumers I wanted to meet up with and get pics with. 🙁

The funniest thing was the shirt absolutely does not breath. At all. Getting out of it requires too people because the sweat has melded it to my skin. Ewwwwwww LMAO.

I’ll more than likely take this to GMX. That would be fun.
