Every year I end up picking out a song that is my “dragoncon song” for the year. A song gets to be a “dragoncon song” by either being something I’ve played a lot over the summer while working on costumes, or just because it makes me think of dragoncon.
I thought I’d put together a playlist of my dragoncon songs.
1. 1,2,3,4, Sumpin’ New (Coolio) – This is 2014’s song.
2. Get Lucky (Daft Punk) – 2013’s song
3. Safety Dance (Men Without Hats) – 2012
4. Jack Sparrow (The Lonely Island) -2011
5. Bad Romance (Lady Gaga) – 2010
6. Miami (Will Smith) – we always seem to listen to this on the way down. plus change lyrics around and it’s a cute dragoncon song.
7. Dont Stop me Now (Queen) – there was a cute dragoncon video set to this song a few years ago, so now it puts me in the mindset.
8. Heat of the Moment (Asia) – just one I seemed to sew to a lot a few years ago.
9. In the Summertime (Mungo Jerry) – I listen to this in the summer a lot anyway. so therefore it gets listened to while sewing and makes me think of dragoncon.
10. DOA (Foo Fighters) – because that’s how I feel when it’s over.
11. Thrift Shop (Macklemore) – because i spend too much time in thrift shops looking for shoes and stuff for costumes over the summer.
12. Viva Las Vegas (Elvis) – much like Miami – I guess Vegas is my version of dragoncon.
And now some just random songs that I’m not sure why they make me think of Dragoncon but they do – they may have been stuff I listened to a lot longer ago so I don’t remember specifics, or they are just stuff we’ve listened to in the car on the way down a lot…
