I clean out my makeup bin once a year, usually the week before dragoncon. I’m doing it a bit earlier this year, so I can start buying what I need over the next few weeks instead of one (annoying) lump right before the con. I figured I’d share pics and what I take in my kit.
For makeup in general:
various sponges
4 kinds of foundation (1 powder for casual, 3 liquid for costuming – the kind i use depends on what I’m doing, or sometimes just how I’m feeling!)
2 kinds of powder
2 shades of blush (one lighter, one darker)
three brushes
3 shades of eyeshadow (a kit of grey to black, light brown to dark brown, and purples)
black eyeliner
mascara
lash glue
at least 6 packs of false eyelashes – some thinner, some thicker, etc
Various lipstick and lipliner. Usually I only carry 3 shades of lipstick and 3 lipliners – but this year I’ve bought a ton of extra colours of lipstick for one of our groups…
any “odd” makeup – white foundation, or weird colours like if I’m doing Starfire or Poison Ivy

For anything that’s not living in my makeup bin, I keep everything else in some of my lunchbox collection LOL
One lunchbox has hair accessories – bobbie pins, brushes, clips, etc. One has extra “normal” makeup, one has “specialty” makeup, etc.
I pull them all out before dcon and go through them and see if there’s anything I need, and reorganize and refill my regular bin.
I also pack up my bag of hair stuff: wig caps, bobbin pins (in black, brown and blonde – both normal size and short), clips, wig brush, wig spray, and a headband for when I’m doing my makeup.
And the last thing that goes in there is my medicine kit. Band-aids, mole-skin for blisters, ibuprofen, tylenol, sudafed, sinus headache meds, benadryl, cough drops, and my own migraine meds. This is a little bag I take on any trip with me just in case!
