C5, Photoshoots, Convention planning

I know a lot of people are excited and I don’t want to bring anyone down! So you can just skip this segment if you don’t want to hear non-excited talk about C5 LOL.
I am very disappointed that C5 is going to be 2 weeks before Dragoncon. Just about any other time of the year and we would have definitely been going. Besides the money issue, I just can’t take that much time off work in such a short space, and Chase DEFINITELY can’t.

I think the main reason I’m so disappointed is because I’d made the mistake of telling my cousin Kevin we were going to go. Ever since we missed C4 I’ve been telling Kevin, “We’re going to go to the next one, you’re going to have so much fun,” and planning his costumes with him. I had to go in today and tell him we couldn’t go.

But, like I said, at least now I can make other plans now that I know C5 is out of the picture. We’re looking at 3 conventions – surprisingly they’re all in April so we can only pick one.

We’d been talking about going back to MTAC. Kevin would enjoy that one, and we might be able to bring Chase’s brother down for it, so the two could hang out. Of course the biggest pluses to doing MTAC would be it would be the cheapest option, and we’d get to see Nashville friends.

We were thinking of Anime Detour, also. It’s in MN, which is where Chase’s brother lives, and he was already planning on going. It would kill two birds with one stone if we went up there for it – we’d be able to go up and see Chase’s family and he’s been dieing to take me up there and show me where he grew up, as well as taking Kevin to a convention.

The other one we’ve been looking at is Anaheim Comic Con. Chase lived in LA for several years and has been wanting to go back for a visit. This would be more of a vacation trip, like Megacon/Disneyworld was for us this year. And I think lj user=spockmonkey would probably also come, cutting down the room costs a bit more. We’d probably go a day early and hit Disneyland, and take the evenings to drive around and see things.
Obviously the content and the guests interest me more for this con than the other two – but it’s by far the most expensive option, as direct flights from here to there range around $500 a person. (if we drive to Nashville and leave from there, it’s around $290. That’s so dumb.)

We’re going to go over everything tonight and weight the options… try to make a decision so we can start saving for everything./lj-cut

We took some Marvel Girl Snow White pics last week.

As much as I love your beautifully white backdrop (okay, and envy something awful), I don’t think it’s the best way to show off Snow White, just because in comparison your skin looks so… not tan, but flesh-colored. šŸ™‚ Everything looks great, tho!

Love your Snow White, you look amazing šŸ™‚

I’m so disappointed about C5 too šŸ™ We made it to 3 and 4, but we’re all set to make it to DC again next year, two international trips so close together just isn’t possible.
