Well this is not the Dragon Con part 2 post I was planning to post today – I still don’t have Chase’s pics from him, except for picnic Padme. So I’ll post a few of those, plus some I’ve found.
I don’t like any of my picnic Padme pictures. They were all very BLUE from the light coming in the window and colour correcting made everything look weird, plus almost every shot is angled up my nostrils.
It’s really frustrating to work on something for 6 months and not have pics I like.

Saturday we went out to breakfast, ran some errands, and picked up Kevin.

Had a movie night with Kevin. Had pizza and snacks and watched Super Mario Galaxy and Mandalorian and Grogu. Mario was cute but I only half paid attention. I got bored during Mandalorian and went back to reading Dungeon Crawler Carl (I’m on book 2)
Sunday we had lunch with Ash and Gabe and went to see the new MST3K: Rifftrax experiment in the theater. It was hilarious.
Came home and Ash and Gabe went and got a truck and came to our house to take the bed out of our guest room. I decided a while back we don’t use it, it’s just taking up valuable real estate. They said they could use it and took it! Yay!!
Now I’ve got to clean up that room – I’ve got another desk to move out of there, and a table to move in there. I also gotta figure out what to do with all the stuff I had stored under the bed.
That’s all I got for this week until Chase sends me more pics and I can get those uploaded and the costume pages updated.
I do want to gripe about something before I close this post out though.
Every year when I post about Dragon Con – for TWENTY FIVE YEARS NOW – people ask how I wear so many costumes/how I take so many costumes, etc. I don’t mind it. Comes with the territory of having a lot of costumes and wanting to wear them and — as of the last 15 years or so – the fact I really only having one major event I do every year now. So I have a lot of costumes to cram in.
But this year feels different. I’ve been absolutely inundated with incredulous comments about the quantity of costumes I wore at Dragon Con. It’s fine people are curious, but the a lot of the comments this year have had a… negative vibe to them. It’s odd. Like I didn’t go overboard with changes this year. I only changed when I wanted to get out of something because I was hot/tired/uncomfortable/needed a break. In my back and forth with some folks it seems like some people don’t get the vibe of Dragon Con, which is fine, but it also seems like some people seem to think changing a costume is a 2 hour affair. No yall, I do one face of makeup in the morning and just touch it up. I’m just changing clothes and slapping a new wig on my head. It is not time consuming, if I don’t need to cool down and have a snack it takes like… 5 minutes. My costumes are all steamed and ready to go. The only time consuming thing to put on I brought with me this year was Belle and that’s only because it’s so many layers and 2 things to lace up, but even that is maybe… 10 minutes?
I dunno, the negative vibes in the comments really rubbed me the wrong way. People acting like all I did at the con was be in my room changing. The only day I feel like I did a LOT of changing was Thursday but that’s only because I WAS SO HOT I started feeling overheated within a couple of hours and had to go cool off in the room and then I’d change. Friday I only did 3 – which from being up to 9AM to midnight is nothing. Saturday I did 4 – Belle is too heavy to wear for more than a couple of hours, it was too crowded for wedding Leia (PLUS I FORGOT MY FAN AND WAS OVERHEATING THAT SUCKED!) so I didn’t stay in either of those long. Sunday was 4 and one of those was just scully which I almost don’t even count as a costume LOL
anyway, that’s all, I just needed to vent. Won’t be my problem next year because we aren’t going LOL
