I really can’t remember what all has happened since I last posted, it’s all too much.
Christmas was nice. I’m just going to kinda go through my photos in the order they’re in and talk about them.
First up here is my favourite gift bag. I almost gave it away this year but kept it again. I just like taking it out of our christmas wrapping bin and looking at it every year.
Luna has not been taking her medicine. If we put her medicine in ANYTHING she will not eat it. Her fav food? No. Her chicken puree squeezy treats? No. Chicken stock? No. It’s going to waste so we’ve got to come up with another game plan. She did try to steal and eat a rib the other night though.
Christmas Eve Day we drove to Jackson for that side of the family’s Christmas lunch. It started off on a crazy foot though. Chase and I were about 5 minutes away with my aunt (who’d just arrived and got this news) texted us and said the youngest cousin “tested positive” and they weren’t coming. We got there and… youngest cousin is there, running around totally normal and cute. All of us who were told he was “positive” came in in masks not sure what else to do. Finally it came out that he was positive… FOR THE FLU… the week before. LMAO I’m sure this will go down as a funny story later but it was kinda tense there for a few minutes.
Somehow I didn’t take any pictures from lunch that day. Best part was one of the dogs getting on the table somehow?? It was hilarious.
Typically Christmas Eve, Chase and I cook something nice at home and open presents, but things got switched up a bit – we still did that, but first we went out to Jean’s to have a little Christmas with them and I finally got to give Ash her birthday present I have’t been able to share:
I found this cute Stitch fabric and made her some ears for her trip next week!
We got a big box of baked goodies from Ash and Gabe, super cute Star Wars plates and a disney card from Jean. Then we left them to eat dinner together! We’d gotten a couple of nice steaks and a garlic potato casserole earlier in the week for our Christmas Eve dinner, so we ate that and it was yummy. Then we opened presents.
Chase got me 2 new shirts, Mothman and a LPOTL shirt!
And not one but 2 flags for a flag pole out front, Gondor and United Federation of Planets. Think I’m going to put Gondor up first.
Some cute Winnie the Pooh pj pants, storage bins, wonder clips, cards against humanity pack, and most importantly a new hard drive because I’ve needed a new one like crazy for years. My oldest stuff is all on a VERY LOUD and unstable hard drive from 2004 and I need to get it all off of that LOL.
Our neighbor also gave us baked goods so we’ve been snacking like kings this whole week.
I got a bunch of blind boxes in my stocking including a mini-brands ball, so I added them to the nativity. Wheat Thins and Jalepeno Poppers are the new Frankincense and Myrrh.
Saturday morning we got up and went to my parents for Christmas breakfast!
We didn’t do a lot of big gifts this year because we decided to do a small weekend trip together sometime soon. But my parents got me some gorgeous Frank Lloyd Wright glasses, a sweater, jeans, a Cards Against Humanity pack, and disney gift cards (we got a lot of disney gift cards, yay)
Mom saw their new-ish neighbor outside and had me come out to meet him because we were in the same class for a year or two in elementary school. He was out walking with his grandddaughter. HIS GRANDDAUGHTER.
Then it was off to Kevin’s for the rest of the festivities.

I saved this bag from a McDonald’s delivery and put Kevin’s present in it LOL His PSN gift cards were in the nugget box.
I spent Sunday and Monday being super lazy. Like I slept most of Sunday. Chase had to work Monday so I spent the day getting some of the photoshoot pics resized and uploaded.

I’ve got one more set we’re shooting this weekend and then taking the backdrop down, thank goodness. I’m tired of it being up in there, it makes the room feel so messy and I don’t want to be in there. Actually we’re doing the shoot tonight – Raddus Leia, Bespin Leia, Rose Tyler and Mothman. And with that I’ll have shot everything I’ve made in the last 10 years on the backdrop. (well except for my TARDIS variation and Emma Frost variation, but I’ve got white backdrop shots of the main versions of those). Bespin is a reshoot – I originally shot it before I took up the tunic so I want new photos.
And then New Year’s Eve… we won tickets to Hamilton!!!!! OMG. I got the text Thursday that we’d won 2 tickets in the Hamilton lottery for New Year’s Eve. I am SO excited, I really wanted to see it but didn’t think I’d ever get to. The virgo in me is frustrated I can’t really plan the whole night very well; we can’t pick up our tickets until 2 hours before show time, plus it’s New Year’s Eve downtown so it’s going to be a madhouse with the ball drop and every restaurant is booked solid already. So I’m just going to have to go with the flow and let the night be what the night is and appreciate the fact I get to see Hamilton. Our plan is to have an early dinner/late lunch before going to get the tickets, then as soon as the parking lot is open (we booked valet parking), we’ll walk somewhere to try to get drinks and chill til showtime. Then get out of the NYE party madness as quick as we can.
Rest of the weekend, I’ll be cleaning, taking down Christmas, and hopefully finishing up the bulk of the sewing on Utena.
I’ve just got to put the closure in, sew on the buttons and make and attached the faux pockets.
I’m obsessed with these stylized rose buttons I got for the jacket; they’re exactly what I pictured in my head.
Test print of the 3d printed epaulets. Need some tweaks but it’s on the right track. Unfortunately the trim I got for the ropey things that hang from this came in and aren’t going to work at all, too small, so returning that, hopefully the other thing I ordered works.
And I did buy shoes but they came and I don’t love them. I think the heel is too short and chunky. So I’m going to try to find something else this weekend and return those.
