We’re home after an amazing long weekend getaway with the family.
Wednesday night I finished up packing – was told to bring our D&D stuff, so I needed an extra bag for it – what better than the bag my parents used for the D&D stuff in the 80s?
Then thursday morning it was off to Hot Springs! We headed out a little later than we wanted but not bad. Chase & I got to Hot Springs around 1:30 and went to find lunch. We ate at a place called Purple Cow, then headed to our home for the weekend.
Nana, Kristie and Rach had gotten there first and set up gift bags in everyone’s bedrooms!
This was Chase and I’s room for the stay:
The house was really cool. It was 3 levels – the lowest level had our bedroom, my parents’ bedroom, and a mini living room and kitchenette.
Then the second floor had another living room, the main kitchen, and 2 more bedrooms (and laundry room)
And the third level had one more bedroom. And then lots of porches and outdoor places.
Neatest of all was the movie room! It was hidden in the garage.
Once everyone was there, Chase and I ran to walmart to pick up a few more things everyone needed for the weekend, and then we all had tacos for dinner. Spent some time in the hot tub, and I went to bed early because I was exhausted LOL
Friday was our day to go into town.
We all kinda broke into little groups to wander around. I had wanted to do the Gangster Museum, but they didn’t have another tour starting for another 45 mins and then it was an hour and a half guided tour, so I skipped out. Some of our group still went. Then I had wanted to do the wax museum but nobody else did so I didn’t go.
My parents and I ate at a taco place for lunch, then after some more walking around and looking in stores, went back to the house for a nap.
We went back around 5 to meet up with everyone else for dinner at the Ohio Club.
Then we had famliy D&D night, which was a lot of fun.
Saturday we all had a big country breakfast, then it was time to go out on the boat.
Chase was our captain.
We packed lunches and just drove around for a few hours, looking at houses, reading, and at one point some folks did some swimming.
I did NOT pack for summer activities. But it was 90+ degrees all weekend LOL. I had to buy a cheap shirt and shorts at walmart to use in the hot tub (they had NO swimsuits), and borrow a hat and sunscreen. LOL.
After our boat day, Cath and Nana tried out the paddle boats.

Saturday night we cooked out there at the house, burgers and hot dogs.
Then most of us went and watched Black Panther in the movie room.
We also wanted to watch Signs as a double feature but then everybody was too tired LOL.

And then Sunday morning was packing up and heading out. We managed a group photo before everybody left:
We got home yesterday afternoon, took a nap, got take out and watched MuppetS Haunted Mansion, which was cute.
It was a really really great weekend. It was so nice to be away from everything, with my whole fam, just having fun and not worrying about anything. It was so nice that last night I was super depressed about having to go back into the super stressful world of my job today. I hate this.
Anyway, this week I’ll be working on my friend’s Halloween costume, really hoping to have it mostly done by this weekend. Then I’ve got to start thinking about Utena.
