Oh look another weekly blog post where I have nothing to talk about because I can’t go anywhere and everything is canceled and I have no motivation to do anything.
Well actually we did go to Home Depot last week. While there we got paint for the upstairs bathroom so we can finally start redoing it. I was going to clean the bathroom out so we could start painting this weekend but I did not.
I did also use up the rest of my gold vinyl to print more of the swirl designs for the marasiah skirt and bodice.
But turns out I’m gonna need like 2 more rolls to cover everything. Ordered roll #2 last week expecting it to be here for the weekend and of course by Saturday it still hadn’t even shipped, soooo
Did I talk about the vinyl for Marasiah? I can’t remember. I’m too lazy to go look. I drew up these swirl patterns (decided to go with a Klimt “Tree of Life” swirl look) in photoshop. Chase got them printed on the silhouette for me. I was dreading all the weeding I was going to have to do but…
Weeding these things was THE MOST FUN I’ve had in months. I can’t wait to get the next roll and start it up again. Did also order a second roll over the weekend and that one HAS arrived now (first still hasn’t shipped…) so going to get back to this this week.
While I was stuck on Marasiah with no more vinyl to apply, I switched over to Jean’s TNG skant.
I got the front yokes assembled, the side panel attached to the front… and then got to the point I needed twill tape. Which I don’t have. I ordered some but… it’s not even going to ship til the end of the month. So I put that aside, but at least I got a start.
And Saturday Chase finished the shelf he built for my sewing machines!!
Yessssssssssssssss. So glad to have them off the floor.
I think I’m going to move my blue thread shelf over to the opposite wall, so the serger can sit in the middle top without it looking crowded. But it’s fine for now. (I can’t really move any of the wall stuff up, because the roof angle starts right around where the photo cuts off at the top).
My Joann order from a couple of weeks ago arrived, with my thread for Padme Liberty Dies, and a couple of yards of this:
Our store sold out before I could get any. I needed this fabric. Into the stash it goes.
The family had a small Mother’s Day get together Saturday. I really wanted to go to see Mema. But we decided better safe than sorry and will wait a few more weeks before we try visiting anyone. Phase 1 reopenings just started last week. I really hope it goes well so Phase 2 can start soon. I’m trying to be optimistic.
Followed a tiktok trend and made Luna some catnip tea.
She kept trying to roll in it, it was cute. She didn’t really know what to do.
Sunday since I was stuck on Marasiah and the trek suit I moved over to a totally random project, remaking ceremonial Leia.
Used this scrap green lining to figure out the shapes. I think I’ve about got it ready to move over to real fabric… it’s not perfect but I have edits in mind when I go to cut the real fabric. The upper bodice is like version 4 already. Original didn’t have bust darts. When I tried it on it squished my boobs down so bad I looked totally flat LMAO. So I reconfigured it with darts… trying to get this underbust seam to fit me has been the most challenging part so far. It’s been the most challenging part of fitting anything the past couple of years. I think I’m going to totally sew this mockup together one more time to try it on and then take it apart to use as a pattern.
Obviously this doesn’t include the sleeves. I’ll deal with that later.
I also recorded some tiktok stuff Sunday, after I said I wasn’t going to record anything this weekend. Oh well. Honestly doing that keeps me busy and my attention elsewhere for longer than anything else at the moment.
In other news I’m getting bored of Animal Crossing. I’ve rearranged my town 3 times. I’ve replanted all my flowers. All the mystery islands are boring now, I don’t need anymore supplies. I’ve come to a standstill. It may be time to go back to Sims.
But Sylvia just moved out so tonight I’m going to use up some nookmiles tickets and try to find a good new villager. I’m not deadset on finding specific villagers. Except maybe Raymond. I just want somebody cute, or a dog, or a cat.
