oh wow

Starting off with the art today because I have it open so it’s the easiest thing to post haha.
This is based on a ROTS era concept.

I tried it in some different colours but at the end of the day it’s a battle outfit and having it be purple really wasn’t working. I tried to keep some different tones in the greys so it wasn’t totally grey and dreary LOL.
Pretty happy with the face.

So I warned ya’ll that the next few blog posts are going to be boring. Because it’s alllll house stuff.

But we’ll start with one sewing related thing – my parents made me an ironing board table/cover for christmas and dad brought it over last week!

I can also use it on the table or the floor of course!

Fit my ironing board perfectly though! So excited to break it in.

And we’ve ALMOST got everything out of Nana’s house – finished getting my costumes over.

At least, my costumes I had at Nana’s, I haven’t gotten anything from my parents’ house yet. Which is the majority of them. For now these are living in the guest room closet until we can get bars up in mine.

And another round of dress up with the new form. Here’s Crait Leia.

Chase was out of town again this past weekend. The weekend before at least I had Kevin there with me, but this weekend I was all alone. But I did ok. Slept ok and got a lot of work done… though Friday night I did pin curtains up over all the windows in the front because they were super creeping me out.

We’ve really got to get blinds made.

Saturday I started painting trim in Chase’s office and the dang tape pulled up some of the paint on the wall I painted last weekend.

UGH

Discovered a leaking window on our patio. Going to get that looked at soon.

So Saturday I just dug in. My goal was to get the entire first floor unpacked and finished. And I DID IT! There is only one box left downstairs and it’s my ceramic kitchen containers my grandma made – I have nowhre to put them at the moment, so for now they are staying in the box (previously they lived on top of our upper cabinets just as decoration – but we don’t have that spaces in the new house.)

To be fair, some of what is upstairs belongs downstairs – I know there’s several boxes of books/dvds up in the guest room and most of those are going to need to come back downstairs. But I got everything that was already downstairs taken care of.

It rained Saturday but despite that the day started off nice, temperature-wise. It was like 60 but throughout the day the temperature dropped and by like 3 it was SNOWING! The low that night was 21! So I’ve mentioned we’ve had trouble regulating the heat in the house, that just made it even more difficult LOL.

The biggest accomplishment of Saturday was getting the dining room “done.” I hadn’t expected to, since we were using it as “I don’t know where this goes put it here for now” room. But I was able to get all that stuff either put away or put upstairs where it should have been. And then since there was some random furniture in there anyway, I set up nicely.

Lamp and ikea shelf from the living room originally, ladder shelf used to be chase’s nightstand (no room for it now), and chair and stool from Chase’s office.
This is going to be the next painting job btw, after Chase’s office.

Also we moved the big giant white ikea shelf into our bedroom for now. Dunno where it’s going to go for good but I needed it put somewhere so I could unpack books and stuff because I was getting tired of opening boxes of “stuff” and having nowhere to put it.

Saturday night the girls came over and we had a game night and dinner and it was really fun and so nice to have room for everybody.

Sunday morning I got the new roomba set up and running.

She did a good job but Luna does NOT like it LOL.

Then for the rest of Sunday, since I accomplished my goal of having the downstairs unpacked, I got to “reward” myself by finally working on my sewing room.

YIKES I think it was looking better before I started unpacking LOL

I’m already out of fabric storage space. We’ve got to figure out something for me to put fabric in – we are thinking of looking at ikea shelving we could cut into the shape of one of the triangular walls and then I’d have all the cube space for fabric. I’ve got to go to ikea for an organizer for the bathroom so I’m going to take a look at options then.

And OMG I just have SO MUCH STUFF. It’s just stuff. Toys. knick knacks. action figures. I do not know where to put it all. I’m weeding stuff out as we go – stuff for trash (so many fabric scraps just mixed in with stuff), stuff for donating (not a lot in this room), stuff for giving to friends or family (our niece is going to get a nice box of Disney Princess and My Little Pony toys!), and stuff to sell. At the moment I have a decent amount of clothes I want to try to sell so I think I’m going to try Poshmark?

I spent the last part of last night, after Chase got home, reorganizing all of my sewing room bins. I have one for ribbons/trims, one for glue/tape, one for velcro/snap tape/bias tape, one for wire/elastic/sculpey, one for large beads/wooden shapes, one for basic sewing supplies (zippers, buttons, unopened bias tape/trim), and one for “bits and bobs” (found metal pieces, cardboard tubes, leaves, just random stuff). Just seemed like an easy thing to concentrate on in the midst of chaos.

Tonight – more organizing in the sewing room.

OH! And I am FINALLY going to get to bring my record player over from my parents’ house. It did not move out with me in 2007, it’s been in my old room ever since, going to bring it over to my sewing room along with my record collection! SO excited!
