Happy Dragoncon Eve!
It’s happy because I FINISHED EVERYTHING LAST NIGHT.
Well like 99.9% but still, everything major is DONE and if the stuff I plan on doing tonight doesn’t get done, it’s not a big deal.
So my to-do list is:
Run one errand after work
Do laundry
Trim that lacefront wig that’s arriving today (the base for the Amidala wig I’m going to use as my hairline)
Try darkening the tips of my surprise costume wig — I found another marker I forgot I bought that might work better than the one that was doing nothing.
Press my Amidala robe
mess with that one prop I made for my surprise costume a little more.
FINISH PACKING!

So I finished up the Amidala wig at about 10:30 last night.
If I’m going to be nit-picky, my braids ended up not quite matching my wig colour. Like I said in the last post I know my hairline is going to show. I had to sew down the front edge of the tiara piece thingie and it’s still not laying completely flat. The “fan” of hair at the back is looking a little wimpy.
Should be much thicker. But I think, post-Dcon, that will be the only thing I go back to redo. Just beef it up a little bit.
Gosh I hope this works ok. I am not going to have time to try everything on. On this, or Crait Leia, or Kate/Love Shack, or Garth, or the last surprise costume. YIKES
Fingers crossed everything works ok.
Speaking of Kate, Monday night I did rip the last panels off the bodice, made totally new ones (Chase stopped and got me new cotton lining and eyelets, I still had leftover satin) and got them reattached. And sewed the fringe back down. And OMG I am SO glad I took the time to do that. It looks SO MUCH BETTER. It fits much better. I was feeling a little apprehensive about wearing it because I hated the way I looked in it. But after this fix I’m good with it. And now excited about it. YAY!
Saw a random rainbow on the way to dinner last night. I feel like it was a good sign.
So here’s my schedule as it’s looking right now:
Tomorrow:
Leave at 6AM! We should be into Atlanta around 1ish.
No real plans except picking up badges
Dunno what I’ll wear in the afternoon. Maybe throw on Amidala to practice before Friday? Depends on crowds.
Might try to go to the Bunny Hutch party? Always wanted to go. Probably will wear Kate.
Friday:
11AM Padme Shoot @ Hardy Ivy
Prob throw in either the last surprise costume or Donna Pompeii to go shopping
5:30 (i think?) Greatest Showman Singalong
Dunno what I’m wearing that night, maybe Garth late at night, play it by ear.
Saturday:
Might throw Pompeii on in the morning for some shopping.
1PM: Catherine Tate Photo-op
3:40PM: Catherine Tate/John Barrowman Photo-Op
Wearing Unicorn & the Wasp for both
8:30 PM Marvel SCF shoot (Jean Grey)
Dunno what I’ll be in after that
Sunday:
11AM: Leia Shoot @ Westin
2PM: Disney shoot @ Hardy Ivy (Tink)
Will wear whatever I feel like I haven’t worn enough that night.
Monday:
Load the car, maybe go by dealer’s room one more time, go home
I think we are going to try to do one of Catherine’s panels, too at some point.
But these are the only things I have marked in my Dcon app at the moment.
I’m off Tuesday and I am sooooooo looking forward to it and after mainlining The Great British Bakeoff for the last 2 weeks, I’m going to bake a cake. And eat the whole thing by myself. Sitting by the pool. That’s my Tuesday plans.
