First they don’t actually send my swatches out for 5 days after I ordered them
It takes it 5 days to get from NY to TN, gets “delayed” along the way
Finally makes it to Memphis
Does nothing for 7 days
May 27 it departs a USPS destination facility…
May 27 again, “In Transit to Destination”… then I check it again May 28 and now it says May 28: “In Transit to Destination”
June 1 and it’s still not here, no updates to tracking
Been waiting nearly 3 weeks for 3 stupid fabric swatches.
As a PS. Ordered 1 swatch from another place last week and it was here 2 days later.
Anyway. In Mon Mothma world, did a little bit last night. I realized my tunic shoulder seams were too long and that wasn’t helping with the drooping sleeves the other night. So I took them apart, trimmed them up and put them back together. Might need to go a little further but we’ll see.
I also realized my sleeves were too wide at the top, so I trimmed them down, repleated them. They’re just pinned onto the form here. I’ll tackle sewing one in tonight to see how it looks, and if I need to shorten the shoulder seam again.
She is looking SUPER tent-like right now. The super stiff brown skirt pinned on underneath was not helping with that, so yeah I’m totally not using that fabric for the skirt. It’s almost as thick and stiff as a canvas – which means it’ll work nicely as the interior for corsets. So, putting it away as future corset-fodder. Will look for something else this weekend. If all else fails, I have a brown curtain in a trunk somewhere that I’ll use.
UPDATE: June 5: Still no swatches, tracking hasn’t updated since 5/28.

UPDATE: June 7: Told the fabric store we think the swatches are lost. They are resending.
UPDATE: June 12: Swatch Watch 2017 is over! The second set arrived today. I will keep you all updated if the original set ever show.
UPDATE: July 26: The second set just came limping in. Turns out that what I got 6/12 was actually the original shipment! The replacements that were mailed out 6/8 are the ones that finally turned up today. WTF….
