Edith photoshoot!!

Sorry I haven’t posted in (checks) 10 days! My website’s server has been up and down… looks like it’s finally stable again now. Plus I haven’t really had much to post; haven’t sewn much in the past 2 weeks. I’m hoping to finish cleaning up my sewing room this weekend and get back to work.

So let’s see, what has happened since I last posted…

I decided on my one Dragon Con costume! I needed something that wouldn’t be too terribly expensive or too big to haul – after digging through my “want” file, almost everything I wanted to do was too big or too expensive. I finally landed on doing the Tightrope Walker from the Haunted Mansion. I have some things I can reuse, and I may just use my Jane parasol even though it’s not the right shape, but we’ll see. Haven’t gotten too far into planning.

I still need to order my spoonflower design of my bodice design for Rapunzel’s mom, I’ve had the tab open on my laptop with my spoonflower shopping cart for like 2 weeks now. I need to get it ordered so I can get that project finished.

Hobby Lobby had a Simplicity sale. I haven’t hit a Simplicity sale in months, and there were SEVERAL I was looking for, plus a bunch of new ones that must have just been released. I got 10 (their limit) the first day, then went back to our other location the second day and found some more the first store didn’t have. Spent about $17 all together. Now that’s a savings and my Pattern-Hoarder self is very happy.

The first set: got the 3 bombshell patterns. I have no plans whatsoever to make these, but I wanted them anyway. FINALLY found the Outlander patterns – have looked for those before and Joann didn’t have them. Deadpool pattern – again, I have absolutely no reason to ever make this, but I wanted it. Then, Star Wars mini-dresses, WHAT! Had to have that. A steampunky thing (I thought the pants were interesting), Zelda, and a Doctor Who inspired pattern! All very exciting.

Second set — the other Hobby Lobby had the other 2 Doctor Who patterns the first one didn’t. Super cute TARDIS/Dalek inspired dresses…. AND the dog costume pattern! AHHH! Also got the American Girl doll pattern because why not. And a baby outfit superheroine pattern because I mean, look how cute.
Then I got that Jane-esque pattern, fantasy-elvish Link-esque pattern, and Avengers backpacks.

Anyway. Now I have to find some place to put them, because I was already running out of pattern room again.

LAST NIGHT! We did a photoshoot of my Edith costume! YAY! We used my aunt & uncle’s basement/wine cellar… it’s not exactly Crimson Peak but it’s pretty and much better than a sunlit convention floor LOL I don’t have the photos back yet, but here’s one Chase took on my phone for me:

And he recorded a couple of Boomerang videos for me to post on instagram too, they look pretty neat:

I have a ton I want to accomplish this weekend… I think I need to make a to-do list.
