More Merida – I made a belt!

So last night I had to wait until Chase got home and we were done with dinner so he could help me get the box of leather scraps – they were on the top shelf with a bunch of stuff in front of it.

But once he did I was so happy to find not one but two scraps of leftover Boushh pants fabric that were wide and long enough to make a belt! Here’s the piece after I just cut it out:

Then I hemmed it and pressed it (the leather was pretty wobbly from being thrown into a box for 8 years), and started playing with drapey stuff on the side.

I’m going to use the scarf just looped around the belt, but I also made two diamond shaped pieces (one smaller, one larger) to mix in with it, cut out of the leftover green crushed velvet from the main part of the dress. The larger one I hemmed so that the actual right side is showing, with the smaller one showing the wrong side (the side I used for the dress), just so they don’t completely blend in.

That’s all I did for last night. Tonight I have plans so I don’t think I’ll get to do much… tomorrow, eyelets, and getting the neckline piece attached.
