Dragon

I haven’t posted in a few days – sorry!
Since getting back from Disney World, we’ve been rushing to finish up the Dragon project we’ve been working on. We’ve been making a Dragon costume for a middle school production of Shrek!

We finally finished it up last night. I don’t have very good photos of it, because it’s meant for 4 people – one girl (who is playing the Dragon and doing her singing, etc) wears the head attached to a tunic. Her own head is right above. The back of the tunic has the body which is a bit like a Chinese Dragon, with hoops/handles for 3 people to guide it.

Here’s the head right after I finished covering it in fabric and we’d attached the eyes:

You can see the black tunic there behind the head.

I also made “wings” which the lead girl can wear on her arms, and a mohawk-ish headband of the green fur for her to wear. The tail at the end has a black loop hidden in it, so the last person in the “body” can hold it over their wrist to keep it out of the way.

I do wish I could have had maybe another week with it – but overall I’m pretty pleased with it. I hope it all works ok – I’m excited to see some photos.
