So, Saturday I got my base dress cut and sewn together:

Starting my Meg costume. Made my base dress out of some thin purple fabric I picked up locally. The pleated outer dress will be built around this.My Megara costume from May 2014 - in-progress.kelldar.com/portfolio/megaraKelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr

And the interior support cut out and pinned together.

Got my chiffon dyed:

I bought silk chiffon online and dyed it purple for the outer dress. My Megara costume from May 2014 - in-progress.kelldar.com/portfolio/megaraKelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr

And cut, and started playing with pleats:

Starting to play with pleat ideas on the dyed chiffon. It took me a long time to figure out how I wanted to pleat this and several false starts. My Megara costume from May 2014 - in-progress.kelldar.com/portfolio/megaraKelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr

I stopped because I really don’t have a thread that matches very well, and if I’m going to be sewing the pleats down, I need it to match.

Hi! The base fabric was some kind of thin poly-blend, I’m not 100% sure what it was. The outer pleated fabric was a silk chiffon! Hope that helps you a bit, good luck!
