I’m just curious. You have so many costumes, how many wigs do you have and how do you store them?
Oh gosh. I’m going to see if I can’t think of all the wigs I’ve had. I’ll put all this under a cut.

I THINK that’s everything though I’m probably forgetting something somewhere. Especially back in the old days, I’d buy cheap wigs all the time and then not do the costume and get rid of them, or buy multiple wigs for a project and pick which one I liked best. Ah to be young again.
As to storing them… I have two ways of doing that:
1. Bags
For non-styled wigs, mostly.
Long wigs I braid or tie into neat segmented ponytails and fold the hair inside the wig cape. Then I place it in a large 12×15 baggie and store it inside the bin with the rest of the costumes. Shorter wigs I just flip inside out and put them in the bag.
2. Boxes
For styled wigs.
I find good sized boxes at work that will fit in a wig/wighead. I buy styrofoam wig heads and keep the styled wig on that (held in place with T-pins) and put the wig in the box. These boxes are typically stored in the top of my costume closet. I have a few styled wigs I no longer keep on wig heads, just because of space, but I still keep them in boxes (Corde in particular is very resilient, but I don’t want it smashed so it just lives in a box with similar wigs.)
I used to keep a few of them out on my shelves, but they got dusty, so the boxes work better for keeping them safe and neat.
They do sell wig boxes – but I find these to be more expensive than I’d rather deal with, so for me it’s regular boxes.
