Wig Problems and Updates

Well let’s see.
The wig that I got that was too short? The seller wouldn’t do anything about it, so last night I found some black hair extensions in my wig box and sewed them into the wig. It’s all I could do.
Got the jacket taken up, and I ended up having to attach the bottoms/briefs to my white shirt, because otherwise they wouldn’t stay up high enough to meet the vest.
The only part I’m not happy with is my hat. I bought a cheap costume tophat on ebay – and it looks a little too small. It would work if I had to go with it – but Chase and I were at our local costume rental place on Saturday (wasting time before his hair appt) and they had a ton of nice tophats for rent. So we’re going to call today and see what they would charge for me to rent it for a week — then later on down the road, sometime this winter I’ll breakdown and buy my own, nicer one.

Anyway, I worked on my “special” Belle costume last night and got the bodice about halfway done. I also broke my needle and I swear my machine knows how to aim for my face everytime it does that.
My WW bodice is nearly done – I need to cut the boning and get the straps cut out and made. I’m not 100% crazy about how the lining inside the chest area lays – I may take the lining out.
Got Chase’s Green Arrow mockup taken apart and ready to cut out the suede, and took my Starfire purple suit over to my parent’s with me yesterday, so that mom could pin it up for me. I just couldn’t manage by myself, I kept poking myself.

And as an aside, I’ve got to go buy a full-length mirror for our place. The one I had at home really wouldn’t fit anywhere here (it’s really wide) so I left it… but now I have nowhere to go look at how a full costume looks. I have to take a picture of myself if I want to see below my hips LOL

Tonight’s to-do list:
work on the belle bodice
get ww bodice straps cut out, boning cut put in
get GA tunic cut out and put together

To see myself full-lenght, I have to go out on the back porch and look at my reflection in the glass door!
