Dragoncon 2006 Sunday pics!

Back to our regularly scheduled Dragoncon pics!

Got to sleep in a little bit Sunday morning. We got up and I put on Rogue for the X-Men photoshoot, and Chase stayed in normal clothes to play photographer. I was absolutely stunned by how many people showed up for the X-Men photoshoot!

Then we went over for the cosplay.com photo, and after that, Chase wanted to wear the ninja turtle again. He talked me into wearing April again, instead of my Belle peasant dress – so that belle didn’t get worn at the con at all. I’ll take pics soon.

Couldn't resist

We ordered pizza and watched the UofM game while getting Chase ready. It took forever and almost didn’t happen – his jacket was NOT working. Thanks to quick thinking and help on Ash, Melissa and Cath’s parts, we were able to get him together enough to wear to the masquerade.

After the masquerade (which we won’t be entering next year – the dcon masquerade has become too much like a gong show and less of a costume contest), we went back over to the Marriott to eat a little something and take pics.

When we were trying to get downstairs to go to the masquerade (we were running very late) we could NOT get an elevator to stop that had room for us. Some of the Marriott employees on our floor had come over to look at us, and one of them very kindly offered to take us down the employee elevator. THANK YOU marriott employee, whoever you were!!!

The girls headed back to their hotel around midnight, since they had to get on up in the morning to go home. Chase and I went and changed and decided to go back downstairs, so I put on Slave Leia and we stayed down there til around 2:30.

Getting OUT of dragoncon was the hardest its ever been! We got up and packed that morning, hit the dealer’s room once more, got back to the room about 11am. We called the bellstand for two carts – we knew it would take a while with everyone trying to leave, so we were prepared to have to wait a while. The person who took our call said we’d have them in about an hour. We laid around in the hotel room watching CSI – I napped. I was starving, but we couldn’t go anywhere because we were waiting on the carts.
FINALLY at 12:40 they called and said they were on their way up. YAY! We were ok with it taking longer, since we weren’t on a tight schedule, but we were ready to get out of there and get some food. Since we had a corner room, we had a lot of empty space right outside our door. To make things easier, we brought all of our stuff out in the hallway. We sat outside and waited… and waited. Another 30 minutes passed! Chase called to see where our cart had gone, and the person at the desk was clueless as to why we’d even been called. He promised to send someone up right away. Our bellboy ended up being really sweet and helpful. 🙂

Dragoncon over all? Weird. Fun, but different. We called it the “Weird Dragoncon” because we did so much stuff we usually don’t, or missed stuff we usually always go to. It was a lot of fun though. And once again I forgot to register for next year at the con this year… oops! 🙂

In other news, the wisdom teeth are going well. No pain, just my mouth is sore on that side. I’m still only eating soup, and the pain medication I’m taking makes me very woozy and dizzy (and VERY sleepy!) but otherwise I’m doing pretty well… tonight and tomorrow I’m going to work on the costume site redesign!
