I am a nervous wreck. I’m up at 7 AM because I couldn’t sleep thinking about this weekend. I’m skipping my classes today – I would be completely useless. It would be pointless. I AM going to work though, that will keep me busy with things I need to do and may also calm my nerves. If I were off today I don’t know what I’d do all day, just wander and wish the time would pass more quickly.
I think that most of it IS because we’re travelling without parents or grandparents or aunts and uncles or anything. Cath’s done it before (6 months in Malta by herself? she’s going to be fine), but Ash and I both are just flipping out about it. And I’m in charge, I’m the responsible party… I’m the one with the red folder of plane receipts and hotel confirmation numbers, the one with the credit card… I’m the leader. So I’m worried. I’ve called to confirm our hotel room twice already. As soon as I finish writing this I’m checking us in on the Northwest website. Today I’m going to call FedEx and track my boxes to make sure they got there Ok. I wanted Ash and Cath to spend the night tonight so I could get them out of the house and to the airport at a good time. Just so I could make sure (control freak). But now Cath is going to meet us at the airport – I told her to be there at 6, a half hour too early :]
On top of all that I’m not finished with one of my costumes yet. Still hacking away at Teela. Should finish it tonight though… I’m actually hoping Ash hasn’t finished Han and will need to work on some tonight, just so I have things to do.
I’m taking a gazillion costumes but new ones are going to be Teela (He-Man), Amidala’s Purple/Blue Senate Dress (SW Ep II), Susan (Discworld… I finally finished it!), and Blossom (Powerpuff Girls). Ash’s only new costumes is her Han Solo & Buttercup. Cath has a bunch- Jubilee (X-Men), Galadriel (LOTR), Milly (Trigun), Bubbles (PPG), Amidala’s Handmaiden (SW)… and she has the Leia if she wants to wear it.
I’m so freaking excited!!!!!!!!!!!
I won’t be relaxed until we get to Atlanta, get checked in, get my boxes and get our badges. Then I can have fun 😀
So yeah, in case you hadn’t noticed me and Chico and Harpo will be in Atlanta all weekend. Be back Monday night. I suppose I’ll post again before I leave in the morning like I usually do. I’ll probably be up at 3AM ;_:
