I don’t have a lot to talk about this week. This past week has been vacation recovery. The couch has been my homebase.
Kevin’s still not feeling good. I’ve gone over to check on him several times and facetime him a couple of times a day to walk him through taking medicine. Everytime I ask if he wants to come stay with us instead, he immediately starts feeling better LOL

I know I’ve talked about our neighbor’s barking dogs before, I’m not going to go into the whole thing again, but a new wrinkle happened last week:

A jailbreak! The barkers who live behind us apparently got into the yard of our direct neighbors and were playing with their dogs. Later that night we heard the owners of the barkers in the back trying to figure out where their dogs were. My hope is that this means that they keep their dogs inside more often and don’t leave them outside unattended barking for hours anymore.
Friday night we ran some errands, Saturday we ran some errands. Saturday night we watched a movie and I had turned the lamp in the living room to green for aesthetic purposes. Made for some interesting Luna pics.

So now let’s talk costume stuff – first, I got the second half of my Padme chiffon. Haven’t taken pics yet – also haven’t gotten the LA fabric out either to take pics of it. I did unpack it, it’s just still in bags. I at least got it upstairs. I also bought my first haul of embroidery floss. I’m hoping to start the skirt embroidery this week. Need to get my bodice fabric ordered.
Next… Chase’s uncle passed away suddenly last year. They had the memorial last fall, and in between all of that, the family was cleaning out his house. He had a lot of stuff that had belonged to his parents, Chase’s grandparents. Chase’s grandparents used to do square dancing, and when they asked if I wanted all of her old square dancing crinolines/petticoats it was an immediate YES PLEASE. Well all of that arrived this week and oh my god.

I have 8 of these enormous, fluffy petticoats – they came in space bags to make them fit in the boxes. There’s a red one, a pink one, orange, yellow, pale blue, black, white and a white one with green ruffles. I immediately had to put one on and try it with a dress – tiki bird was the easiest to grab so I tried it on with that. SO CUTE. I can’t wait to incorporate these into things.
They also sent a bunch of other stuff for me – a full set of Thin Man dvds (which I convince Chase to watch the first movie with me Saturday night while we ate his birthday cake), several homemade blouses and a blue dress, and a matching reversible Christmas skirt and vest. Love it. I’ll have to do a video of everything they sent.
So yeah yesterday was Chase’s birthday! We had a chill day, ran to the bookstore, to Michael’s for the embroidery floss, the mall to see if Miniso had the Disney/F1 blind boxes. They did not, but I got an “Astrocats” blind box and got a glow in the dark cat wearing a Geordi visor.
Went out to dinner last night with my parents – tried this new Korean place near us and… it was meh. I think Chase needs a bday dinner redo.

My balloon from my birthday in September officially made it to Chase’s birthday! It started flagging a little bit in the last week, but it’s still in the air! It beat the record of last year’s balloon, which by this time was not as high in the air.
This week’s plans – go see Project Hail Mary, get our new dishwasher installed, get my Padme skirt panels cut and start embroidering. Chase has a photography project Sunday that I’m tagging along to as an assistant, so I’m hoping I can take my skirt with me to work on when I’m not needed.
