a blue rose case
Since I posted on Wednesday I really only have the weekend to talk about here.
Friday Ash and Gabe picked me up after work so we could meet Chase downtown (easier for him to go there straight from work) to go to the Monster Market opening night!
I wore Diane, because where the hell else am I ever going to wear this besides Dragon Con.

So many cool things at Monster Market!! I wanted so much, I think next year I will have to tell Chase, hold off on birthday presents and just let me go wild at Monster Market LOL I didn’t take a pic of everything I got before it was all dispersed into the house. I got a Twin Peaks shirt, a Twin Peaks patch (look I was on theme for the night) and a Memphis is Magic sticker for my ipad case. I think I’ll put the patch on my jean jacket. Wildly creative, I know.
We went to Molly’s for dinner after, and then I realized this was the PERFECT opportunity to do something I’ve been wanting to do since I made the Diane costume – there’s a gas station with a mural of blue roses and I’ve always wanted to take Diane pics in front of it. It was on the way home, it was dark out, I was in Diane – couldn’t pass it up.

They’re just iphone pics, but I’m happy with them anyway.

Yay.
Saturday we ran errands, the biggest of which was going to Home Depot to get bins for organizing the garage. We had picked out a specific one online that was the right size and price, and their site said they had like 900 of them in stock. Well we got there and couldn’t find them. Had to ask somebody – they had to go get them down off the top of a shelf, a whole pallet of them. LOL All that for us to buy a few bins.
Saturday afternoon I finished doing the painting touchups while Chase worked in the garage.

Got the art back on the walls. I love it. Makes the rest of the colours in the kitchen feel way less “country” and more “cottage”.
Still got to replace the outlet covers – Chase is 3d printing some. I have some fabric picked out to make new curtains, and we are looking for some tiles for the backsplash over the stove — of course I picked out and fell in love with some that were stupid expensive, so trying to find something with the same vibe that isn’t going to cost us like $700 for a backsplash LOL

Chase made me this little Han and Leia lego shadowbox as another bday present! I need to take a better pic of it in daylight. It’s going to look really cute on our new shelf, whenever we get that and install it.
Sunday was working on the house day, or it was supposed to be. Chase was working in the garage again and I finally mustered the energy to go work in my sewing room.
First order of business was to clean up the costume closet and get the dragoncon costumes put away, and I did accomplish that.

I had to steal one of the new bins Chase for for the garage – it’s now living underneath the hanging costumes. I just needed something longer and wider to store both of my pairs of Taylor Swift boots in so they didn’t have to fold over (Lavender Haze and the Padme mashup boots), and I also put both of my Wanda tops in there, which was great because the Wandavision top has NEVER had a home. It has literally just lived sitting out on top of another bin in my costume closet for 3 years LMAO. Shin and Baylan also finally got a homne – they were also just sitting out in there. We took one smaller bin to Dragoncon, and I put them in that, and put Chase’s costume pieces on top of the Shin and Baylan stuff – so now it’ll just be a bin of Chase’s costumes that will go in the spare room closet.
So with that done, my sewing room is still a mess. I haven’t done a deep clean/reorganize since after Dcon 2023. So that’s what I started doing next. I started with the built-in cabinet doors first, reorganized my old sketchbooks, my old CD/VHS collection I still hang onto. Moved up into organizing my albums and that’s where I got stuck, because dad told me he cleared a path to the record closet at their house and to “help myself.” So I knew I was going to be bringing more albums home soon.
So I asked Chase his opinion, and then we decided to head on out to my parents’ house and check in on their plants and get a few albums. (My entire family was out of town this weekend except me and Chase and Kevin LOL Most of them, including my parents, were in Vegas for the weekend.) Got the plants watered, mail brought in, and I went to look at the closet. Brought home a stack of albums that was mostly mine, and also discovered my old college portfolio in there. Brought that home too and went through it. Bunch of art from y2k-2001 I did for con tables and never sold. Dunno what to do with that stuff. Maybe have Chase photograph them properly and toss. Also in there was my Robin Sachs autograph I won at Dragoncon 2002 and one art piece I guess I did for school that I have NO MEMORY of whatsoever. (That’s rare)
Anyway, after we got all that stuff I thought we were coming back home, I wanted to keep working on my sewing room and we had planned to get the outside Halloween stuff up. But Chase decided to go allll the way down to Collierville.

So we went, went to Barnes and Noble (did not buy anything but was very close to getting a Seven of Nine pop because it’s the costume I did and I do try to collect pops of costumes I’ve done), got a cookie, and then to Plato’s closet. Chase likes to go there to look at shoes. So anytime he makes me go I find myself a shirt. Last time it was a Snoopy shirt, this time I found a WDW 50th anniversary hoodie for $10. I didn’t get to get a WDW 50th anything so I was happy to have foun that.
Picked up dinner on the way home and did nothing the rest of the night.

This little bob tailed cat has been wandering around the neighborhood lately and in our backyard a lot. I’m going to call it Bob. Bob and Luna have been getting into fights through the windows, and Bob has clawed up our window screens LOL
So that’s all I got for now. UGH I’ve got to get started on that Belle embroidery. As soon as sewing room is done I will.
