Well I did it and now I can talk about it here. Friday I gave my 2 weeks notice at my job. In 2 weeks I’ll be starting with a new company. It’s very exciting and scary and sad because I did like everyone I worked with at current job. I’ve been all over the place emotionally; new job is exciting and better but at the same time I’ve got my oral surgery next week which I’m incredibly anxious over.

So yeah. There probably won’t be my usual Monday post next week, maybe Tuesday. Fingers crossed this surgery goes as well as it can, there’s a best case scenario and a worst case scenario, and of course I’m hoping for best case and mentally preparing for worst case.

Hopefully next week I have the picnic Padme pics uploaded. We reshot it last week, I wasn’t happy with the first set. I don’t love the second set either so far but I’m not doing a 3rd time.

I had to get this ornament. One of my fav MST3Ks is the Santa Claus movie and you can ask Chase how often he hears “No, Lupita!” every Christmas season.

Dad sent me this photo of the VHS tapes from my grandparents’ house, which for some reason they still had in the tape caddy sitting in the garage from when we cleaned out their house a decade ago.

First, what a typical set of grandparent tapes LOL. Second, what a flashback. Just looking at it, I can smell their house. (Powder.) I watched that Titanic tape, Dinosaurs and those Lucy tapes on repeat. There’s one missing – Mysteries of the Pyramids. I took that one. It’s here at the house, that one was my fav.

Also it’s odd that there are two copies of Sound of Music in there – it was Kevin’s fav movie when he was little. Yet somehow, I never watched that movie until I was an adult? I don’t know how I avoided it for so long LOL

Also we are curious what “Jacob” is – I told dad to save it and I’ll put it in my VCR/tv combo and we’ll see what it is.

Picked up Kevin friday. Chase had to go to his once-a-year weekend at work so Kevin came over to keep me company. Friday night we watched Backrooms, which we both enjoyed.

Saturday we spent the morning chilling, watched Deadpool and Wolverine. Originally we’d planned to go down to Monster Market with Ash and Gabe in the evening – they were having a costume party starting at 6 so of course I wanted to do that. I had planned to wear Lorne since I can drive in that, and Kevin was going to be a tossed-together Emile LOL

But we decided to go earlier, and I wore my Twin Peaks sweater (which I also wanted to wear anyway, so I was happy with that too). I got some patches for my jacket I’m working on and a pin that says “I made this” LOL.

(Oh and my debit card randomly got turned off last week? Had to call the bank and they were like yeah it’s shut off, we’ll turn it back on. Weird. So I was paranoid about my card getting declined everywhere we went, that was fun.)

Had Molly’s for dinner and came home just after Chase got home. We couldn’t decide what to watch so we ended up watching Breaking Dawn part 1 lol.

Sunday Kevin and I had a lazy morning (Chase was at work again). We ended up watching a lot of youtube videos about Tokyo, and using google translate so I could “teach” Kevin how to say funny things in Japanese. He was rolling laughing.

Took him home around 1 and got home again just after Chase got home. Took a nap, did some stuff around the house, ate our homechef for dinner.

So yeah, lazy weekend. Back at old job this morning.

Oh speaking of new job, I had to call a guy at the phone company to set up my new phone with them. He asked if I had a colour preference. I said no, but if you have something cute, send it. It arrived and it’s lavender! My guy pulled through on the cute!

I also have a new laptop which I haven’t messed with yet.

This week I’m hoping things are chill. Got an event thursday which I’m torn. I want to wear Boushh but I also don’t want to wear Boushh. I’m not sure about lugging my expensive helmet down there. And I’ll have to change down there. But I’ve spent all this money on this costume, I should wear it?? I need to get it out and make sure I can still fit in it. I fit in it as recently as January so it should be fine but you never know.

Saturday Halloween not sure what the plans are. May stay home, may go to Nana’s.

OH! I nearly forgot. Posted a video about my belle ballgown from last year on tiktok and it did surprisingly well, the best performing video I’ve had in probably 2 years. Not like crazy viral or anything but decently well. It’s a double edged sword because I’m like… yes, creator fund. But also like, no, I don’t want all these comments and opinions LOL. I hate going into my filtered comments section when I’ve got something popping off to see what kind of bullshit is in there. Thankfully 99% have been positive. Most of the stuff that ended up in filtered were people ragging on the live action ball gown LOL.

I only deleted 2 kinds of comments, and maybe 4 total:
1. The roses should be red. I left one of these so I could respond to it, the other couple I deleted. If I wanted red roses I would’ve used red roses. Red doesn’t fit into the pastel floral colour palette I was going for, to me that changes the entire vibe and almost makes it christmas-y? I dunno why it makes my brain go Christmas, but a bright red with that gold and yellow just wasn’t what I wanted here.
2. “Nice” I know this is a me thing but I haaaate “nice” comments. Like to me it feels like someone is being held at gunpoint and forced to say something positive about a video and all they can come up with is “nice.” It’s so… blasé. I especially hate “nice dress.” “nice costume.” So I delete them. I don’t care.
