#0006 – The Queen Arrives
Based on McCall’s 3858a from 1956.
Like I said in the haidmaiden entry, I used a lot of jackets in this project, and this loose fitting jacket over a dress I thought was perfect for the pre-senate gown. Turned the jacket into more of a full shawl-style jacket with armholes – did the sleeve embroidery down the sides. Did the dress with a cross-over closure in the front hidden by the large waistband-style belt. And instead of the large headpiece, a cute pearl hat 🙂 God I love 50s hats.
