Dolores, & bowling

This was a busy weekend! Saturday we spent the whole day running errands and Christmas shopping, pausing in the afternoon to go bowling for Ash’s birthday! I haven’t been bowling in probably a decade, so that was very interesting, LOL. None of us did very well but it was fun.

Then some more shopping and then dinner for Ash’s birthday! It was chicken spaghetti OMG yum! I ate way too much.

Saturday the weather was really nice, in the 70s, and then that night storms came through and made the temp drop down to the 20s by Sunday.

Sunday we had my great-uncle’s 96th birthday lunch! We were going to go see Rogue One again after that, but mum woke up sick that morning (any surprise with that weather change?) so we are going to go later this week. Then we ran some more errands and shopping and came back home.

Interesting points: went back to Ikea, this time with Chase. Ate lunch there. Went to Costco, became members again. We were Costco members back in 2008 and didn’t renew, we decided to try it again, especially now that I’m getting my prescriptions there.

Yesterday I finally got finished with some various Christmas projects and got to start sewing some stuff!
(AKA, me working on stuff that isn’t what I’m supposed to be working on like Bespin Leia)
I got the skirt for Dolores cut:

And sewn together:

Haven’t pressed it yet, just did a quick pass on some pleats in the back and darts in the front to get an idea of how it’s looking. I think it needs a very small bustle. I’m going to experiment with some stuff tonight. I tried out my full Tudor bum roll underneath it just to get an idea —

And while that’s obviously WAY too big and not the right shape, it gave me an idea of what I DO need to go in there.

I’m going to reuse my Jane corset, just cleaned up a bit. The edging is pulling off in places so it just needs a few repairs, otherwise, it’ll do for this quick project.
