Dcon 2014: Emma costume

So last year I did all these little updates to Emma - mostly fixing the issue with the bottoms not reaching the corset, the cape closures. And then I didn't wear it last year. I made sure to bring it back this year and got into it on Saturday afternoon. However, after all that, I only wore it for maaaaaaybe an hour? Decided to wander through the walk of fame, ...

Dcon 2014: Donna Noble Costume

Starting out with some of my older costumes - less thoughts that way which is good cuz I don't think my brain is fully functioning again yet. So, nothing really new with the costume except the wig. My hair's gotten way to long for Donna as I mentioned before - so I got a wig late last year. A few weeks ago I redyed it to add a tiny bit ...

Lucky Number 13

This year was weird. The bad: -First and foremost, Ash wasn't there. It just made the weekend feel off. -The crowds were really heavy. To the point I wasn't comfortable rewearing Marie Antoinette or Anne Boleyn as the weekend wore on. And it's not so much the amount of people - it's the lack of crowd control. Dragoncon could easily accommodate its current numbers with some more crowd control and ...

Final Dragoncon Line-up

Last schedule thoughts: Friday I will definitely be at the Vintage Vogue Fashion Show, so I'll be over at the Hilton from 12:30-2:30. If I can manage I'll try to wear Anne a little longer than that, otherwise I'll probably be in her again Sunday. Saturday I'll be at the USO Girls/WWII shoot at 12:30 as Peggy, and later that night (8-ish) I'll be in Shadowcat with an 80s X-Men ...

I wanna go

Before every Dragoncon, before every Disney trip, I always feel like Joey in, "The One Where Ross Got High." Yet I've never been able to find a gif of that so I could share my feelings with the internets. So today I made my own.

Aaaand I’m sick

Woke up sick to my stomach this morning. Took some medicine and came into work but don't know that it's doing much good. Uuuugh I gotta go get my haircut today, don't have time for this. I packed a bit yesterday. Worked on getting the loose thread picked off Donna (where I had to pull up the trim and sew it back down). And got glue all over my hands ...

im almost there

Finished putting the "bark" on the Johanna shirt last night - tonight I'll start applying the metal pieces/nail heads, and start on the collar and bracelet piece. I also got all of the hook-and-eyes and snaps attached to the dress to keep it and the shirt in place. Then I sewed on snaps onto my Anne Boleyn dress to hold the back and place. Between those two things I ...
