2015 Year in Review!!

Maybe the morning after Star Wars isn't the best time to do this. I went to bed hours after I normally do and still had to get up at 6:30 for work today so I am beyond fuzzy. BUT I realized I hadn't done this yet and got all excited to type up the post, so here we go, fuzzy headed or not. 1. Pink Dragon I made a giant, wear-able pink ...

Thanksgiving and Photoshoot!

So Tuesday last week I had a sore throat, Wednesday I had no voice. Thursday day I felt OK just tired and I had started coughing. Now it's turned into a little cold and I've been hacking up a lung for the past couple of days. But beyond that, Thanksgiving was nice. We had the family lunch and then went home and slept the rest of the day. Leftovers for ...

More Dragoncon stuff

Some more of the Leia pictures... There were so many great Star Wars costumes there this year... but it's been so long since I wore a Star Wars costume at a con that even while I was dressed as Leia I'd just walk right past them without thinking about it. Then later I'd be like.... I was dressed as Leia! I walked right by the awesome whatever! I should have ...

Finished Costume: Captain Marvel

I've finished my Captain Marvel costume and have added it to my portfolio!

Dragoncon 2015: Costume recap

In (sort-of) order of wearing! 1. Peggy Carter I did some updates to Peggy - I took it up a bit through the waist and removed the shoulder pads, and fixed up the wig. It made a HUGE difference! The jacket fit much better and the wig looked way better, too. I just wish I could have had time to take up the sleeves - they are still huge - but ...

yikes

What was my last update? I can't even remember. I worked like crazy all weekend. I got both Captain Marvel and Leia 95% finished. The only thing I need to do on Captain Marvel is finish my brooch (I've got the pieces made, just need to glue them together and paint them) and the gloves. after making the gloves for Leia I just was NOT feeling having to make another pair, ...

Various things

More Captain Marvel progress. I got my boots finished! I simplified them a bit and all together it ended being quicker and easier than I expected. They are comfy, too. And here's the suit so far. With one boot. Last night I also unpicked the top-stitching on the sash and redid it. Looks much better. That took a while to unpick so that's all I accomplished yesterday. Tonight I'm going ...

Been a few days…

It's been a few days since I posted! I've been busy. First off, I'm moving all of my photos from flickr to smugmug. Not deleting my flickr account just yet, since that would break ALL of the pictures on my blog ... but I'm getting everything moved over and set up so I can then start working on updating everything on the website (ugh). It's going to take a while but ...

Just keep beading

More beading progress from last night: I got the base of the "spikes" on either side done, the rest of them I'll do by hand. More general beading, too. Monkeyed around with the top line parts a little, too. FABRIC! My spandex order came! My Captain Marvel fabric! I'm actually doing it!!!!! I was going to do it 2 years ago, had the costume breakdown in my head and bookmarked fabric ...

A few decisions

So, with all of the craziness of this week (I had to go pick jury duty dates yesterday morning. SO LOVELY after having my grandfather's funeral the day before. F jury duty.) I ended up making some decisions about my projects for this summer. I'm pretty sure both of the big projects are out the door. The Georgian dress is still on the edges of my mind, and if my ...
