Patterns Used:
I think both the top and jacket piece were a very altered Simplicity 9891 (see notes below). No clue on the skirt.
Bodice/Skirt:
I found a beautiful blue fabric I fell in love with – I used it for the top and skirt. The top zips up the back, and originally I followed the pattern blindly and made huge bell sleeves, which as I realised too late wasn’t right, and didn’t have time to fix them before Dragoncon – I corrected them afterwards. I used sequin fabric for the panel in the front, and lace appliques dyed to match on the sleeves and front of the skirt.
Jacket:
For the outer “jacket,” I think I frankensteined several patterns, probably starting with Simplicity 9891 as a base, using a black burn out velvet for it.. I didn’t have time to finish the “sleeve” part of the jacket, and never did finish it, but I did go back and repaint the trim a darker shade later on.
Accessories:
The necklace I made of cardboard and gold stretch fabric, and the headpiece was made of a hairpiece and craft metal, with some craft foam along the lowest ridge as padding. The brooch at the back I made out of a wooden disc, sequins and rhinestones.
History:
This costume was far from perfect but it was great for local events, until I made Leia in 2004. As of 2019, I’ve had new burnout fabric to possibly remake this costume, but I’m kinda losing interest in it, I think I may sell the fabric and focus on other Padme costumes instead of remaking this one.

Please note that none of these costumes are for sale! This is my personal portfolio.
