Scarlet Witch – Avengers
Made for: MidSouthCon 2008
Background: I had 3 or 4 superhero costumes I wanted to do in 2008 – I let my husband pick the one I wanted to make for MidSouthCon and he picked this one 🙂

Bodysuit/tights:
I bought a white bodysuit online, and dyed it pink. For Dragoncon 2009 I changed it up and dyed a pair of white tights pink, instead of wearing the full bodysuit.
Corset:
The corset I bought on ebay, unfortunately it arrived and it had a much deeper red tone than I thought – it looked brown next to my other reds. I made a casing out of my spandex and sewed it around the existing corset, so that it would match.
Cape:
The cape I made out of matte satin, it attaches via hook-and-eye at the neck. See above for the pattern I probably used.
Accessories:
The shorts and gloves (a lucky find!) I bought online also, and dyed them to match a bit better. My wig was my Belle wig, with an added hairpiece for height. My boots I bought online, cut the tops off, and covered them in my spandex. I added the “cuffs” at the top because they were wanting to roll after I added the boot covers.
Headpiece:
Chase made my headpiece – it attaches by a headband underneath my wig (the mask was broken in these photos, but I took them to demonstrate the headband method). The mask was very delicate and after being patched and repaired a few times, it no longer exists, so I’ll need a new one if I want to wear it again.
In 2021 so that I could record some new content, I made a new tiara out of EVA form! Heatformed it and attached it to a headband and painted it. Pretty simple. It can be seen in the videos below.
History: Just an easy quick costume! My headpiece has since broken, so I’ll need to make a new one to wear it again in the future.
