Made for: Halloween 2000

Background: My cousin and I wanted our group of friends to do a Sailormoon group. It ended up just being the two of us, but we had fun.

Dress:

I bought a leotard and cut the sleeves off to make the hip roll. My grandmother and mom did most of the work on the skirt and collar – we used an Ice Skating Dress pattern to make the skirt, out of a green taffeta-like material which held the shape very well. The collar my grandmother made freehand, and added the white stripe.
The bows were made out of pink satin, with pink netting on the inside to give them some poof. They were both attached to the leotard.

Accessories:

The tiara I made of ribbon and a green jewel, and the neckband I made of the green fabric, with a painted star glued on. The brooch I bought and painted green – it velcros onto the center of the bow so I could change them out. The gloves I bought and added the green to. My first boots were some black ones I attempted to make bootcovers for out of my scrap green skirt fabric… that did not work LOL. So before I wore it to a con I found these green boots on ebay – I didn’t do a thing to them except replace the shoelaces.

History:

In 2003, I added and changed parts to turn this into my Eternal/Sailor Star Jupiter costume.
