Comic Con 2006 Roundup: Everything Else

And as for my costumes that weren’t new… here’s how they did!

Animated Leia:
I know you all know I was squeeing like mad when I saw Gentle Giant had a huge version of the animated Leia at their booth! So first thing thursday morning was to hop over and get pics with it!

I was stuck there for some time with folks taking pictures.

I really enjoyed wearing it this time around – not that I didn’t at wonderfest, but this was a venue where it was much more appreciated. Only change from last time was new eyelashes, as I lost my old ones. And my regular blaster, since I didn’t want to chance shipping the MR out to san diego.

Slave Leia:
I got to wear my new chain links! How exciting! I wore this twice – thursday evening during the fanfilm awards (I know it might be surprising, but this is actually a fairly comfortable costume to just sit around in), and then on friday with chase as vader, and for the Slave Leia photoshoot.

Gentle Giant was kind enough to take the ropes down from around the Leia statue so we could pose around it.
Chase got to get in the pics too LOL. I love my new chain links, they are awesome and were v. affordable – but I don’t like having the longer chain. I’m going to take them off for Dragoncon and go back to just having three.

Chase and I only wore these together for maybe 2 hours – and geez, I’ve never been stopped for pictures so much. It was fun! And it almost made us late for the two different photoshoots we were trying to get to, ha.
I’m going to get the new boot tops Jamin is selling before Dragoncon as well.

Stormtrooper:
Had some trouble getting into it (amplified by Chase also getting into Vader for the first time)… we did not make the 9:30 time for the 501st pic, but luckily they were running late so by the time we got there we were cool. 🙂

The hair. I originally put it up like that for this, not only so I could have a jump on wearing Leia later in the day, but also to help pad my helmet. I just thought it was kinda cute and made the armor more interesting for me to wear.
I got some great comments on the hair w/the armor though LOL It did help pad the helmet!

My hand plates would NOT stay on, however. I gave up after about the 8th kind soul picked them up for me, and gave them to Ash to put in her pocket. In fact:

Here I am telling Ash to come here and get them. LOL
Chase and I were drenched in sweat after this was over, we both went directly back to the room and changed. ICK!

Leia Leia Leia…!
Yay, it was finally time to wear regular Leia!

This was heavenly to wear compared to the hot armour!

I think this is one of the longest times I’ve spent in one costume at SDCC. I wore it from around 11:30, all the way to after the masquerade that night! Go me! I’m so proud! LOL
Ash, Chase and I were all in the photo area during the masquerade – beforehand they were pulling people out of the line who were in costume and getting them up on the stage so we could take pics of them. I got up there twice LOL

I didn’t wear Dark Phoenix. I took it, intending to wear it Sunday, but I was so worn out I stayed in normal clothes all day sunday. Unusual!
