Not much left. Got to finish packing tonight as well.
I finished my new Marie Antoinette hat and underskirt. Forgot to take a pic of the underskirt but here’s the hat. I steamed the edges and rolled them up. I was originally going to wear it flat but then I saw a picture of Rose Byrne as Polignac with her hat curled, and I liked the whole look so I decided to change my hair and hat to that.
Ah don’t you love that ugly yellow light in my house 😛
Chase finished my crown, we got the ornamental pieces attached, he painted it, then we started attaching jewels. Still got a few more pearls to go, and to glue in the liner in.
I wish we’d had time to do gold leaf on it but oh well.
Johanna is done. I kinda hate it. No going back now. Maybe I’ll feel differently at the con. Tried it all on last night and there’s still a few things that could be tweaked but I called it officially done, because I’m sick of it and it’s wearable at least. The wig ended up being too small and I’m going to have to try to stretch it at the con hopefully without messing it all up.
I wasn’t wearing the outer collar piece with the bigger neck “jags” on it in that picture – the snap had broken off and I couldn’t hold it on and take a picture at the same time.
I do love my nail bracelet tho.
Also: marshmellow status confirmed.
I had a pair of boots I was modifying to wear with this, but f it. I’m just going to wear my Romana boots. My level of caring has dropped to zero.
Took the babies to granma’s last night:
And got to say hi to Kes:
