a waste of a day

Friday Chase and I used our moviepass for the first time and went to see I, Tonya. It was good but the theater was FREEZING. Usually in the winter I take a blanket with me… I got this tiny little Olaf blanket from the Disney Movie Club a couple of years ago that fits in my purse and I can cover my legs up with it. But the past couple of times I haven’t needed it, so I left it, and I was FROZE the entire movie, like couldn’t feel my legs by the time we left. WTF.

This was in the concession area of the theater tho:

HA

Saturday we ran some errands. I had to go to Joann’s for some new needles and I wanted to get some trim, too. And their beads were 60% off so I bought more beads.
I got 2 different trims and I still don’t know how or where or even if I am going to use them at all.

I liked this one because it’s kind of natural looking. I got 4 yards of it, so I’m definitely going to use it somewhere, just not sure yet.

I only got a yard of this one because it was expensive and I’m not sure I like it. It’s too stark white for one thing — last night I threw it in some tan dye and got it just a hair more “off white” but I didn’t take any photos.
I think if I do use this one, I will cut it apart and reshape it a bit.

Also experimented making a trim out of that green sparkly mesh – I don’t think I’m going to use this but I did like it a lot.

I also got the outer dress taken up. I had cut each panel extra wide because I wanted to leave as much “crinkle” as possible but it was just too big. I probably took out 1.5in from each seam.

Saturday night went out to dinner with the parents, and then Sunday we had a birthday party for Nana and Cath! Diet be damned I gorged myself on chicken nuggets.

Snapchat Mema

While we were out at my parents for the party, I made use of mom’s table and got some fabric cut — making another Leia dress for a friend and having mom help me lay the fabric out on the table made things got a LOT smoother than when I did mine back in December.

We ran a few errands, and then we were going to do wings for watching the Super Bowl… but we passed Memphis Pizza Cafe and decided to just take home a pizza instead (diet be damned).

I was only watching for the Westworld trailer. Didn’t know that was going to take hours; I had wanted to sew but didn’t get much of anything done.
Avengers Infinity War trailer was fun. Westworld 2 trailer was ok but there was a longer version on youtube that was MUCH better (also April yay!) And am I the only person who is really really not excited about Solo? I question the casting…
Anyway.

I played around with pinning up the skirt panels again and experimented with my green mesh and some of the flowers I had on hand. I think I’m finally getting a solid direction here.

I think i’m going to lay the panels out over the lining and stitch them into place, then pull the length up underneath.

I didn’t do a lot Sunday night though because I was starting to feel a migraine coming on. I’d been tired all day but I thought that was just tired, but then realized it was the oncoming migraine. Took my medicine and went to bed.
I woke up around 12:30 with my head pounding, if I was a 4 on the pain level when I went to bed, I was an 8 when I woke up later. I went and took more medicine, went into the kitchen and ate a little snack (it always works better if I take it with food). Tried to go back to bed, could not get comfortable, was hot and sweaty, never fell back asleep. Around 2:30 I gave up and went and dug up some of my old sinus headache stuff, took that. Took some pain stuff too. Had another snack hoping it would keep my stomach settled. Tried to go to sleep on the couch, no luck. Around 4 went back into the bedroom and tried to go back to sleep but the pain was up to a 9 and I started getting nauseated. Got up to find something else to take and puked. Finally took some nyquil and that knocked me out around 5:30.

So that was awful. I ended up calling out sick. I slept straight through til about 11 in the morning, got up and felt ok. Headache was at maybe a 2 or 3, but felt super wobbly and dizzy. So I’m pretty sure I was sick on top of having a migraine — I haven’t puked from a migraine since before I started taking RX meds for them.

I cleaned up the house a bit, did some laundry, ate some lunch, went back to sleep. Woke up, did a little story for instagram, back to sleep. Woke up and took a bath. Back to sleep. I woke up about 20 minutes before Chase got home from work with dinner… head was still hurting so didn’t get much of anything done last night.

It’s finally feeling better today. Hoping to get some work on the other Leia done tonight.

Oh and I walked by my sewing room at one point yesterday, caught a glimpse of Tink… and I’m feeling really happy with it I think. I think I’m finally on the right path.
