OMG

OMG

Ok so here is a super random-a-little-bit-of-everything post since I have various updates and news and a few little things that don’t deserve their own post so I’ll stick them here.

First and FOREMOST….
So yesterday I’m just working away at my desk and I get a fb notification on my phone. So I look at it and…

I WON CUSTOM WIG CO’S MAY THE FOURTH CONTEST FROM LAST WEEK

I’m getting a custom made TFA Leia wig and I am over the moooooooooon holy crap. I’ve been admiring their wigs for a while now on IG and I’ve told Chase several times that eventually I wanted to invest in a nice wig from them. So I am SUPER EXCITED as I said to them MULTIPLE times yesterday. Last night Chase and I did a tracing of my head to send to them. We intiitally tried to do it with Cling Wrap which exfoliated my forehead pretty nicely before we realized it was not going to work. Chase ran out and got proper Saran Wrap and that was much better. Haha. It really reminded me of the time I made a fancy helmet for Kevin at work:

So yeah that’s the big big news. I really need that yesterday too, I was stressed out about some work things, just tired and not feeling it and that was like, the freaking best thing that ever happened ever.

And I also submitted my Bespin Leia to the Rebel Legion yesterday. I’d been waffling over it because like I said in the last post, there’s still stuff I need to do to it. And while I was there I was like, you know what, I’m going to submit my comic Leia too. And then I got word that they were both accepted yesterday Yay!

So that was also some exciting news too.

I (think?) I mentioned we did a little event at a library on Friday. I wore Ewok Leia since I didn’t have time between getting off work and getting to the event to do any hair stuff (ie, Leia buns). Didn’t take any pics except for when these 2 Vaders showed up:

Super cute.

Other random stuff…
Mom and I went to try to find some costume pieces for a play she’s in. Went to this store near midtown that has all kinds of crazy stuff. Didn’t find anything that worked for her but we did find this sweet Buzz Lightyear jacket:

And now I know where to get basic Pleaser brand go-go boots locally.

Sunday we went and saw Guardians (loved it!) and mom tried on my Holtzmann glasses.

And here is a rare snuggly Luna:

Chase and I decided to watch AFI’s Top 100 movies, in order, starting at #100. We decided this because we both took a quiz “Which of AFI’s Top 100 Movies Have You Seen?” and both of us were only in the 20s! So we kicked it off with Ben-Hur:

And since it’s so long we’re pretty much just watching it during dinner every night this week. Almost through the first disc!

I’ve also been trying to get my sewing room cleaned up. Finally got my Visioncon costumes put away and stuff hung back up in the closet. Here’s what it looked like on Monday:

(apparently I’ve archived this instagram post and don’t have the video anywhere else. So just picture my sewing room all cleaned up.)

Monday was just getting costumes put away and the bins moved out. Yesterday was organizing fabric and patterns and starting to put little things away. I also hung up my new curtains but I forgot to take a picture.

I’m going to start on my next project this weekend! But it’s not anything major or in-depth.

I know that LOOKS major and indepth but it’s not gonna be LOL
After doing the Zombie Walk with Kevin last year I really wanted to do a costume for it this year. Well it snuck up on me a bit – not helped by the fact it’s a month earlier this year than last – so now I’m going to cobble this together out of a couple of old bridesmaids dresses I was given for scrap fabric. I’ve also got some scrap white fur for the sleeves. It’s not going to be serious or great or anything, but it should be fun. I realize there’s no “zombie” in my drawing above… I just want to do a neck slicing and blood all down the front, nothing major.

I’m hoping to get it basically done this weekend too, because then I have to get started on my TFA Leia to go with MY NEW WIG OMGGGGGG
