I misspelled embroidery in the title and it was “broidery” which I think is the manly bro version of embroidery.
So I finished a couple of other art things recently, in that Star Wars series I’ve been doing.
First up is Luke
I’m pretty happy with how he turned out.
And then Han
Pretty happy with this one, too.
I think next week I’m going to revisit Leia – she was the first one I did of this series, and as such she doesn’t really match. It was before I really got down how I was finishing these… so I think maybe a slight tweaking of the drawing and going back in on the skin colour will be all that is needed to get her to match the other two better.
I have Kylo Ren scanned in and ready to start working on after that. Then back to the sketchbook to see what I have to start next. I did redraw Rey completely so Rey version 2 may be after Kylo.
And in Broidery land, I finally feel pretty accomplished:
I’m almost done with all the little X-thingies (I need to come up with names for these shapes). Just a few more at the top I didn’t want to finish up because I’m saving them til I need that colour on my needle again.
After that, I still have to do the smaller flowers at the top, obviously — that’s tonight. And then the shadow-stitching on the smaller flowers, the shadow-stitching on the X-thingies inside the spindles, the shadow-stitching on the petals on the bottom… I’m avoiding shadow-stitching in case you hadn’t noticed.
But I’m hoping to be totally done with it tomorrow. I’m off for a sewing day tomorrow and I intend to make full use of it. I may take a break and start pulling VisionCon costumes but I’m hoping I can power through the entire day.
Fingers crossed!
