Finished putting the “bark” on the Johanna shirt last night – tonight I’ll start applying the metal pieces/nail heads, and start on the collar and bracelet piece.
I also got all of the hook-and-eyes and snaps attached to the dress to keep it and the shirt in place. Then I sewed on snaps onto my Anne Boleyn dress to hold the back and place. Between those two things I was sitting hunched over on the floor for over an hour and my back hates me now.
Tried it all on to make sure the snaps lined up ok – and they did! So relieved because it’s taken me weeks to get this back figured out. I think adding the boning helped.

I also added elastic to my hair braid/headband. It originally just came with attached haircombs and I thought that would be annoying to keep on my head, especially if I’m taking the crown on and off, so I found a little piece of black elastic and attached it.
I have my bangs pulled back by it in this photo but I don’t think I’m going to do that at the con. Just sweep them to the side and pin them. I hate how I look with my bangs pulled back. My forehead is huge.
But after I tried everything on, I went through and fray-checked everything I needed to and the dress is officially done now. YAY
