Chase woke me up at 7:15, asking if I wanted to go open presents! I said no, I had planned on getting up at 8. So I tried to go back to sleep but couldn’t, I gave up at 7:45.
Got up and let the dog out, gave her her medicine. Then she got to open a gift. She’s so funny opening gifts, she knows how to do it! She holds it down with one paw and rips it open with her mouth. She opened her new stuffed animal, and played with it while Chase and I opened. She also opened some treats and some new little tennis balls, which she went crazy over.
I gave Chase a Michael Jackson CD, a photography book he’d been wanting, a new wool winter jacket, and the start of a shelving system for his office closet.
I also gave him Edward. LOL. We’ve been hiding my Edward Cullen action figure all around the house, I’ll leave it somewhere silly like standing in the shower or something, then he’ll put it somewhere like hanging from the pull to the attic door. Well he’s been in the nativity scene so we haven’t done it lately, but Christmas Eve night I tossed him in a box, under some tissue paper, and wrapped it. So he opened it saying “What is this?” you know. Then he gets to Edward. It was pretty funny.
He gave me the sweater boots I’d been wanting, Ame-Comi Huntress, two little Disney Princess figures, a beautiful big book on Tudor England, Up on DVD, Memphis Tiger underwear LOL, a Beauty & the Beast necklace, two of those little toys that grow when you put them in water (I love those things!), and Twilight candy LMAO
After we opened presents we sat on the couch and watched part of Casino Royale, while I finished another Disney Princess picture. Chase got up and took a shower, then I got up and got dressed – wore my new sweater boots, and my new jacket, but didn’t really have a new shirt to wear so I wore an older sweater.
Gathered up our presents, put Indy in her Santa sweater and headed over to my parents around 10. Mom had cooked sausage casserole and it was soooo good. We ate, and then opened presents. For their big gifts, we gave mom the creche that goes with her nativity scene, and my dad got a new chef’s knife.
My parents gave me a book of historical costuming patterns, several dvds, Ghostbusters for the Wii, a Disney book, a shirt, some socks, a calendar… I know I’m forgetting something but can’t think of it.
After that mom went and took a little nap while we watched dad’s new DVD and I flipped through my costume book. I also put my new shirt on! Around 12:30 we got ready and got the presents together and went over to my cousin’s.
They were behind cooking lunch – it was so cold and windy out that it was killing the heat inside the big cooking grill thing my uncle was using to cook the tenderloins. So once everybody was there we went ahead and opened gifts. My cousin Kevin got some really nice new shirts and a beautiful grey peacoat. And a new sound system for his room! We got some money, a gift card, and a new calendar.
After that we just kinda laid around and talked and played with the cats. Lunch was ready to go around 3:30 so we all ate, it was reallllly good. We had dessert and were finally done with everything a little before 5.
Chase and I followed my grandparents back to their house and let them drop their car off – it was dark out by then and they’re not comfortable driving at dark, so they got in our car and we took them over to see our house. They haven’t seen it since before we moved in – they came over the first night after we’d closed, and hadn’t painted or anything. After the tour we talked for a while, then took them back home. It was nice š
We headed back out to my parent’s, I ate some more sausage casserole while waiting on @LindenAsh & family. They all got there and we exchanged gifts again. I got a Memphis Snuggie! We also got a spice rack, which we’d been needed, and I got a threadless shirt (Lion wearing glasses, it’s sweet), and the new Lady Gaga album from Ash.
We ate some soup and watched the Star Trek gag reel, then Chase, Ash and I gathered our stuff up, including my dog, and we dropped it all off at our house, then went to see the movie.
I’m glad our movie was at Studio, because the other theaters are always SUPER crazy Christmas night. Studio was a little busy but not crazy. Some kids theater-hopping did get busted and kicked out though, that was funny. We saw Sherlock Holmes, very enjoyable, then headed home. I had a bath and read a little, then we finally crashed a little after one.
It was a good day š
