what I finished, what I didn’t get to, and 2010…
Here’s what I said at the end of 2008 that I’d like to do in 09…
1. Finish all those things I said I was going to finish this year, esp. Bespin Leia – HA! nope.
2. Silk Spectre I – yes!
3. Golden Age Black Canary – yes
4. Belle’s Ballgown Remake – still no, waiting on Chase to finish Beast.
5. Princess Nuala – nope
6. Dawn – nope
7. Magik – nope
8. Padme Concept Art outfit – nope
9. another Poison Ivy – yes!
10. Marie Antoinette – nope
11. Belle’s Christmas dress – nope
12. maaaaybe another Wonder Woman – yes!
Here’s what I did finish.
1. Sally Jupiter
This is so fun to wear. I did restyle the back of the wig before Dragoncon, though I didn’t get around to remake the dress section like I wanted.
2. Huntress
I had a long break between Sally Jupiter & Huntress, though while I was working on Huntress I’d already started on Anne Boleyn.
This is one of my husband’s favourite costumes I’ve done, but there’s still a lot of little things I’ve wanted to do to it and just haven’t.
3. Jean Grey’s Marvel Girl suit
I put this together to give myself a break from working on Anne – it was also an excuse to reuse my Huntress mask form.
4. Age of Apocalypse Rogue
For Dragoncon. I wore this a lot on Saturday at dcon because it had the most comfortable shoes… LOL
5. Wonder Woman
My new version of WW that didn’t quite get done. Finishing up the gold parts for MidSouthCon next year.
6. Ame-Comi Poison Ivy
Fun little costume. The boots gave me fits.
7. Black Canary
Finally finished the classic Black Canary from earlier in the year. Didn’t know if I’d even be able to wear it at dcon but it worked out and I was happy with it š
8. Anne Boleyn
My “big” costume of the year. I had so much fun making this.
9. Snow White
My Halloween costume. I was so happy with how this turned out!
I did also start on a new version of Belle’s blue dress. I got the blue sections roughly put together but I set it aside earlier in the year.
I think it’s funny I got more done while we were displaced than i did beforehand. But I guess before we moved out of the apt, I was too busy packing stuff up… while we were staying w/family I had my own big workroom for Dragoncon so that was nice.
My office still isn’t set up – it’s a giant mess. I’m hoping to have it going by January so I can start getting some stuff done next year. Speaking of which…
What I’d like to do in 2010… I’m just going to throw a lot of stuff out there, since I don’t really have any kind of schedule or certain ideas for next year… this is just everything I’ve got in my “want” folder that I feel like I’d like to do sometime soon.
1. Bespin Leia – my goal for this for ages was CV, but since we’re not going it leaves me kinda aim-less. I’m going to try to work on it next year though.
2. Belle’s Ballgown – how long have I had these two on my list? Like I said, I’m waiting on Chase to be able to work on and rewear Beast.
