2007 in review

Well since I’m mostly done for the year – outside of my little secret project – I’m gonna go ahead and post this. I’ve had it done for a while actually LOL

At the beginning of the year, this is what I wanted to accomplish… keeping in mind that when I wrote this, Chase hadn’t proposed yet and changed a lot of our plans for the year!!

1. Ceremonial Leia v.2 – Finished it!

4. Finish Padme’s Nightgown – Nope.
I did get a little more work done on it, but didn’t finish it.

5. Leia’s Bespin dress – Nope.
I didn’t make any progress, unfortunately, though it’s my next project to buckle down on after the secret project.

6. Wonder Woman – Finished it!!!

8. Amidala red senate – Nope.
As I said in 2006, “I might put it off til next year” – and that’s what happened.

9. Utena remake – Finished it!

(sort of. It ended up being sort-of last minute, Chase and I want to re-do parts of it.)

10. Fix up starfire’s collar for good – Nope.
I did fix it up… but not that it did any good. One of these days, I *swear* Chase will make good ones for me.

11. Start on Boushh – Yes, and finished it!

My Princess Leia as Boushh (Star Wars) costume from September 2007.I still have a few little things left to do.Here is my set of Boushh pics, construction info is on my website.

12. Bastila – Nope.
I started research, and scoping out fabrics, but didn’t get to it. Maybe next year.

13. fix up Beast’s jacket/shoulders/shirt – Nope.
We did start on it, and started dismantled him, but we want to work on him over the winter.

14. Sarah from Labyrinth – Nope.
I never did find fabric I liked, but I never did really LOOK seriously. This is might not ever get done now, as I kinda want to do Giselle instead, and they’re both way too similar! LOL

15. Marasiah Fel – Finished it!

My Marasiah Fel costume from September 2007.This was at Dragoncon 2007.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

16. Remake Belle’s blue dress – Finished it!

My Belle (Beauty & the Beast) costume from October 2007.This is my second version of the blue dress (I never wore the first one!). I was not happy with this one and made a new 3rd one in 2012.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

Although not 100% happy.

17. Anna Valerious blue outfit – No way! LOL

In addition to those, I also completed:

And my “Doll” Leia, which I still don’t have photos of.

And this was my 2007 schedule:
Shadowcon – didn’t go.
ChattaCon – didn’t go.
Timothy Zahn Book Signing – We went, I wore Mara.
Metropolis Con – didn’t go.
Atlanta St. Patrick’s Day Parade – didn’t go.
MidSouthCon – We went. I did Wonder Woman and ceremonial Leia 2 for this.
MTAC – We went. I did Utena and Belle’s pink dress for this.
Wonderfest – didn’t go.
Celebration Europe – didn’t go. (originally celebration europe was to be our “big” trip for 2007, replacing comic con. we didn’t do either in order to save for the wedding.)
Dragoncon – We went, of course šŸ™‚

Now, my predictions for 2008 šŸ™‚
Our tentative con schedule:
Con Nooga in February, in Chattanooga
MidSouthCon in March, here in Memphis
Adventurecon in June, in Knoxville
Dragoncon, of course šŸ™‚
And that’s it!! LOL We’re hoping to be in a house by summer next year, so that cuts down on a lot of the traveling.

And costumes I want to do/finish — in sort-of this order:
1. Finish Padme nightgown!!!! It’s been sitting around for over a year now!
2. Finish Lois Lane! Ditto!
3. Finish Polychome. THAT one has been sitting around for over 2 years.
4. Finish Team ZIssou uniform – another one that’s been waiting nearly 2 years.
5. Bespin Leia. I’ve finally got my fabric, ready to start.
6. Scarlet Witch. Maybe for Con Nooga?
7. Belle’s Green Dress.
8. Comic Book Starfire.
9. Glinda of OZ
(book illustrations, I don’t have a good scan of it)
10. Padme’s Light Blue Tatooine outfit
11. Giselle (dunno which yet)
12. A new Belle ballgown, to replace the old one
13. Leia Jedi
14. Another Wonder Woman, dunno what yet
15. A secret Belle costume LOL

And these are my may-bes…
1. Amidala Red Invasion – I still really want to do this, I’ve been researching it for ages now, I just have never gotten around to it. I’m thinking maybe a slow project late next year for 2009.
2. Breha Organa – if Chase gets around to doing Bail, I may bump one of the other costumes and go ahead and do this. It would probably end up being for 09, though.
3. Bastila Shan – again this is something I’ve wanted to do for a while. I just don’t know when.
4. Some twi’lek – I dunno which. Suggestions? LOL. I’ve just wanted to do a twi’lek costume for a while.
5. Snow White – that silly Rachel Weisz Disney picture made me want to do a Snow White for myself.
6. Zatanna – I really want to do this but Chase isn’t crazy about it. I know that doesn’t really matter LOL but still.
7. Rogue – one I’ve wanted to do for years, just have never gotten around to it.
8. Anne Boleyn – Cath and I talked about doing Mary and Anne for Dragoncon next year, not necessarily movie costumes, just pretty dresses LOL I probably won’t be able to afford it though LOL

Well that’s it. Not too shabby keeping up with my original list 8)
