when indy suspected an intruder

Oy! I took today off anyway. I’ll make the time up by going to Thursday’s class. I still feel all stuffed up, especially in my ears and throat. I might have made it thru class today, but I dunno… six hours of standing up drawing might have been a little too rough.

Last night I was sleeping on the couch in the living room, and, as usual, Indy was sleeping with me. Well, I was dead to the world when all of a sudden I hear Indy barking like crazy. I looked at the clock and it was 1:20… Indy was standing in the kitchen, just barking her head off at the backdoor and the back windows. I saw the light in the hallway come on and Dad came out and turned the outside lights on and looked…he didn’t see anything, so he told Indy to be quiet and go back to bed.

A few minutes later, Indy jumped up and ran over to the living room’s backdoor and started going crazy again. Indy doesn’t normally bark all that much to begin with, so now I was weirded out. Mom came out this time and turned the lights on and looked out the blinds for a few minutes. She didn’t see anything, so she told Indy to shut up and go back to bed.

Indy laid back down next to me and after a few minutes, she jumped up again and ran to the living room window this time. Mom came out again and looked again, but didn’t see anything. She told Indy to cut it out!

I feel like there should be a punchline to this, but that’s the whole story. It was just rather disturbing, you know. It was like something was moving across the backside of the house and only Indy noticed it. Logic tells me it was most likely Bebe, one of our neighbor’s dogs, out prancing about and getting Indy all excited. But who cares about logic?
