Dragoncon 2019 Wrap-Up
It’s my favourite post of the year! The post where I get to recap Dragoncon and post all my fav pics. So Wednesday I went into work early so I could leave early (2), which ended up not being necessary… I’d pretty much gotten everything packed Tuesday night and all I really had left was stuff like my toothbrush, medicine,…

dragoncon blues
HI! I’m home, and officially dead from dragoncon. So let’s backtrack to Thursday morning! I got up at 5:30AM and Ash was there to pick me up before the sun was even fully up. We drove thru Silent Hill. The drive was pretty uneventful. We got into Atlanta around 2. Getting the car unloaded and into the room was painless!…

MCFC Photos
Better late than never! Disney trip got me behind, just got these from Chase last night and uploaded. There’s not a ton. MCFC 2016 Gallery Mostly Donna photos. The last known photo of my phone *cries* It still hasn’t turned up — hasn’t been turned on or anything, which further reinforces my suspicion that it got kicked somewhere and is…

A weird weekend
This weekend did not go as planned. Friday we were going to go see Fantastic Beasts… but I was still feeling a little under the weather and wanted to save my energy for the con Saturday, so we stayed home. That night, I did finish the Phis and Gracyn that matches the other SunDowner character refs I did a few…

2015 Year in Review!!
Maybe the morning after Star Wars isn’t the best time to do this. I went to bed hours after I normally do and still had to get up at 6:30 for work today so I am beyond fuzzy. BUT I realized I hadn’t done this yet and got all excited to type up the post, so here we go, fuzzy…

Thanksgiving and Photoshoot!
So Tuesday last week I had a sore throat, Wednesday I had no voice. Thursday day I felt OK just tired and I had started coughing. Now it’s turned into a little cold and I’ve been hacking up a lung for the past couple of days. But beyond that, Thanksgiving was nice. We had the family lunch and then went…

Moaaaaaaar pics
Slowly getting Chase’s pics uploaded. Here’s a couple of Peggy from thursday: I tell you, taking those shoulder pads out made a huge difference. My neck doesn’t look so short now. Chase & I found an abandoned nook of the Hilton Saturday morning for the Doctor Who photoshoot and got some Donna photos… And then I MET A DOG DRESSED…

Dragoncon 2015: Costume recap
In (sort-of) order of wearing! 1. Peggy Carter I did some updates to Peggy – I took it up a bit through the waist and removed the shoulder pads, and fixed up the wig. It made a HUGE difference! The jacket fit much better and the wig looked way better, too. I just wish I could have had time to…

Other updates
Because I forgot in the last post. Also I finally added a tag for the pink dress – it’s “Pink dream dress” because last year I dreamed about this dress and it’s why I wanted to make it. I haven’t been tagging the posts because I didn’t know what to call it til now! And wait… hold on… Joann Fabrics…

yikes
What was my last update? I can’t even remember. I worked like crazy all weekend. I got both Captain Marvel and Leia 95% finished. The only thing I need to do on Captain Marvel is finish my brooch (I’ve got the pieces made, just need to glue them together and paint them) and the gloves. after making the gloves for…

Various things
More Captain Marvel progress. I got my boots finished! I simplified them a bit and all together it ended being quicker and easier than I expected. They are comfy, too. And here’s the suit so far. With one boot. Last night I also unpicked the top-stitching on the sash and redid it. Looks much better. That took a while to…

Been a few days…
It’s been a few days since I posted! I’ve been busy. First off, I’m moving all of my photos from flickr to smugmug. Not deleting my flickr account just yet, since that would break ALL of the pictures on my blog … but I’m getting everything moved over and set up so I can then start working on updating everything…

Just keep beading
Friday night I transferred the design to the cape, got the stitching done, and started beading. Saturday I beaded a whole lot more. Sunday I just kept beading. I got the interior pieces done — I ALMOST got the outside band done. I would have finished it last night! But got my work cut off by a half hour. Tonight…

More Donna
Yet another warning that it doesn’t fit my dressform. Like, at all. I need to adjust the settings on it! I got the belt made on my lunch hour yesterday, and got the beads sewn on last night. Tonight I’ll stitch it into place. I got the cape piece made last night and did the decorative stitching around the edges.…

yaaaaay
It’s wearable! Ignore the ironing board and call-of-duty-playing husband! It looks a little too long in the photo but it’s just the angle – the bottom hem hits me right below the knee. I had a frustrating time installing the lining but I got it in and finished and top stitched. After this picture I pressed the lower hem. Didn’t…

It’s doooooone
Well the front is. I finished it last night! I finished the upper bar – which took a little longer than I expected – and got the diamond shape beads attached. (I ended up having to buy crystal beads for those pieces because I couldn’t find anything in gold/brass, and Chase painted them for me. They’re a little longer and…

Holiday weekend
I REALLY buckled down and dug into the Donna dress over the weekend. Thursday night I got the last of the beading and embroidery on the “middle” part finished (the lower skirt half above the big triangles). Friday I tackled the big triangles. I broke out the “light table” again (using a light underneath our glass coffee table) and with…

The daily update
I’m plowing through this. I’d say I’d be done with that main section tonight but Chase wants to go see a movie!! So tomorrow, I guess. I’m going to try an experiment with some leftover gold material and see if I can just get away with sewing it behind this black material – maybe at certain angles and with a…

Donna progress
Went home early with my migraine yesterday and laid down for a bit; then woke up and did some beading. Pinned it on the dressform for a better pic but I didn’t pin it as well as I did last time, so it’s not a very good pic. (I need to fix the size settings on the new dressform, too.)

Urrrrrrgh
Well first, Donna progress: I’ve gotten quite a bit done on the lower half since my last update. The upper left side is almost done. I’m hoping that by the end of the week all of that section can be finished and I can focus on the lower “big triangle” bit. On the original, I’m like 99.9% certain all of…
