Dressform Pics
Here’s everything so far. I’m only missing 3 actually so maybe I should have waited, but our server is down at work and I’m bored. Belldandy and Urd from 2003 and 2002, respectively. These two costumes have really stood the test of time. I knew Belldandy was in good shape since I wore her to Momocon earlier this year, but…

2013 Year in Review
2013 on its surface looks like I was a lazy bum on the sewing front this year. So, first, let’s look back at what I said I wanted to accomplish in 2013: Romana I Yes! I actually did this one! Yay! an Edwardian dress No. I did a ton of planning for it, got fabric samples, and then decided it…

Well it’s a week later, I guess I should finally post about GMX, huh? We drove up after work on Friday! We got in later than we expected but we got into the room fast, and I threw on Trillian and we hung out downstairs, and went to the Favor panel! Kevin in the Falcon cockpit! Kevin was doing the…

New Costume: Donna Noble Runaway Bride
I’ve finished my Runaway Bride Donna costume and have added it to my portfolio! I ended up really loving this costume! It’s actually really comfortable. I can also get away with wearing shorts under it so I DO have pockets, haha. I only took a handful of pictures of it, though. The first time I wore it Chase had the…

Dragoncon 2013!
Well I’ve been home from Dragoncon for a few days but haven’t posted a thing here – sorry! It was a good year. Even though I felt like i was a day ahead the whole time (Thursday felt like Friday, Friday felt like Saturday) by the end of it, it felt like it had rushed by way too fast. I…

Runaway Bride Donna is done!
I finished up everything on Donna yesterday! Finished the petticoat, fixing a small issue on the outer skirt layer, rehemming the front (since I got shoes to wear with it now), and finishing the tiara. I just need to press it again, and re-sew down one bead in the front that’s come loose. That’s 3 I can say are 99%…

Donna Runaway Bride progress
Thanks to Chase being sick all last weekend and then me being home sick this week, I’ve nearly got the beading on Donna done! I threw it on this morning to see how it was looking. The train ended up being too long, but I’m not shortening it because I like it and it’s pretty. Also, Kermit is sticking out…

various stuff
Well, Friday, I added the panels into my Donna Noble skirt and started beading, and Chase and I went out for sushi and saw Monsters University (it was cute). Aaaand then the next morning Chase woke up with food poisoning. I felt so bad for him! So I spent all day Saturday doing more beading, so I could stay nearby.…

Donna Runaway Bride progress
This went together fast! I bought the fabric for this last weekend, and started on it during the week. I had a little bit of hang-up with the upper portion, my first pattern tweaks didn’t work out and had to revisit and re-cut them. Here’s the satin parts pinned onto the dressform, from Thursday, I think? And here it is…

Thinking
I was thinking of making Donna’s Runaway Bride costume for Dragoncon. That’s NOT the 4th costume I had in mind; but it would be cheaper and quicker to make. It’s going in the maybe pile for now – I’ll see how things are looking in July. I’d definitely make it instead of buying something; it would be an easy two…
