State of the Union
Because I’m bored. First order of business – White Backdrop Shoots 2025: So it’s almost that time of the year. Here’s my goals: 1. Belle ballgown version 3 I need better pics of this more than my other dcon costumes – but I want to do the embroider first. Going to start looking at it this weekend. 2. Padme (Taylor’s…

The Sims: Freddie the Influencer
Ok so on my new laptop Sims is actually blazing fast! So I’ve been playing again. It’s been a while since we had a sims story on the blog, so I thought I’d share this one. I’ve been seeing people on Tiktok do this 1×1 room challenge where you start a sim in just a plain 1×1 square room and…

i fell asleep amid the flowers
Well today I am coming at you from Chase’s computer because… my laptop is dead! It was fine all last week, it was fine Friday, I unplugged it Friday night since we had storms coming through. Saturday morning it wouldn’t turn on at all. Chase tried a few things to fix it but nothing worked, so he’s got a new…

hoa hoa hoa
I’m sorry yall, I still have nothing to post about this week LOL. But I am trying to get back into the habit of my Monday morning postings. A few costume-y notes – got another set of swatches for Troi. One I like ok, I think it looks fairly close to how the dress looks on screen, but it doesn’t…

you’re a loony
Oh my gosh I have a ton to post today. So let’s start at the beginning. Tuesday we took Kevin to see Inside Out 2. He did his best Mr Bean impression while wearing a tiny hat at Huey’s. And then he posed with Wolvy and Deadpool. We wanted to take a group picture with this after the movie but…

meet agent dale cooper
Saturday I said goodbye to my old Honda Fit… And said “HELLO!” to my brand new mini cooper! OH MY GOD it’s so cute I can’t stand it. I’m currently sitting with naming it Agent Dale Cooper and calling it “Coop.” I did also test drive the larger countryman version, and it drove pretty much the same, but at the…

weird dream
I meant to tell yall about the weird dream I had the other day in yesterday’s post, but I forgot. So it’s a rare second post within a week from me. I have convention dreams pretty often but they are usually about Dragoncon. This was a rare non-dragoncon convention dream. So, I dreamt I was at the Huntsville Con we…

it’s another flashback haul
Yeah I know I just posted yesterday but if I don’t post this stuff before the trip, it’s NEVER going to get posted. I went through that bag of stuff from my parents’ attic! All of these clothes were originally in an old white garbage bag that totally shredded into nothing when I tried to pick it up. so I…

Two Tales of 90s Child Abandonment
I can’t remember what it was that made me think of one of these stories, but then while I was thinking about I remembered… hey I kinda got left somewhere by myself for a long amount of time probably around the same timeframe. And stuff like this doesn’t happen anymore without somebody calling the cops or CPS but back then…

Ranking Padme’s Costumes
I don’t know why but I got the thought in my head to make a post ranking all of Padme’s costumes. I thought it would be fun. It ended up being really hard, LOL. Because honestly there’s nothing I dislike. If given the chance I would make probably any of these. I think they are all pretty in their own…

Happy Birthday Sims
When I did my birthday blog stuff last month, I had considered doing a post just about Sims stuff… but decided I didn’t have enough content and just folded some of it into the “weird stuff” post. But then today I found out the Sims turned 18 on Feb 4! So what the heck, I thought I’d go ahead and…

Birthday Blog: Thank You!
So I know that my site and blog have changed a lot over 20 years. From fanart, SunDowner and screaming about college in 3 posts a day, to 2 years worth of online quiz results, to talking about nothing but costumes and housework. (Seriously you guys have no idea how many quiz result posts from 2007-2009 I deleted when I…

Birthday Blog: The Weird Stuff
This post is an ode to the weird shit I’ve posted over the years… beyond the art, costumes, daily life updates and whatnot, the weird stuff has always been my fav. February 20, 1998 ART POST: VINCENT (FF7) “Vincent is mad because RedXII stole all his Pepperidge Farm goldfish.” February 21, 1999 – SKETCHBLOG: SMOKIN’ JOE February 5, 2000 –…

Happy Birthday BLOG!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY WEBSITE/BLOG!!!! So I don’t know the exact date I started my website — I first started a site in 1997 on aol sometime in 1997. (I have notes saying it was January 1997 but I’m not sure how accurate that is!) Sadly I don’t have any of those old files or screenshots of that first version…

Happy New Year!
GUESS WHAT! My blog is 20 years old now. It’s in college. My earliest blog posts were late 97/early 98 and the oldest post I was able to track down to reupload was from January 8, 1998. I think next week I will do a big post about it for its birthday! So anyway, this weekend was rather lazy. Mostly…

Sims Pets and Star Wars stuff
Ok so Chase got me Sims 4: Pets for for Christmas! He surprised me with it early, and then since they were on for 50% on Origin, I went ahead and got Get to Work, too. So now I have all of the Sims 4 expansions. Fun. So I wanted to make a new family so I could make pets…

kevin & kes & a nun
Last week was nuts. We had Kes starting Saturday and Kevin starting tuesday. I was working overtime plus having to go after work to check on this or that meant I wasn’t getting home most nights until 6-6:30. So I was totally exhausted every single night. I was working overtime so I could be off on Friday — spent the…

Vegas & Beyond
I’m BACK!!! And so glad to be back. Here’s a really long rambly post about my Vegas trip, weekend stuff… a whole lot of stuff NOT about costumes. Well, a little bit about costumes when you get to Sunday. First off look at my super happy Pumpkin man! And mom found these while cleaning out something and gave them to…

In which I had a heart attack
Ok so yesterday I got home from work. I’d been planning all day to lay down and take a nap as soon as I got home because I swear I STILL have not caught up on sleep from Dragon Con. So I lay down and turn on a podcast (which just happened to be a true crime podcast, episode about…

it’s a sims post with no pictures
I have a Sims 4 story for you guys. But I forgot to send myself the screencaps so I’ll have to add them in later. (EDIT: Now with pictures!) DISNEY PRINCESS SURVIVOR So I like to play “Survivor” games where I just put a bunch of characters in an empty lot and see what happens. This one happened to be…
