2007 in review

Well since I'm mostly done for the year - outside of my little secret project - I'm gonna go ahead and post this. I've had it done for a while actually LOL At the beginning of the year, this is what I wanted to accomplish... keeping in mind that when I wrote this, Chase hadn't proposed yet and changed a lot of our plans for the year!! 1. Ceremonial Leia v.2 ...

Finished Costume: Utena

I've finished my Utena costume (2nd version!) and have added it to my portfolio!

MTAC 2007 Pics!

So MTAC was pretty much ok. Like I said in my previous post, I wore Belle, then Utena -- I need to fix the waistband on Belle, as I said last post. Also, it was too darn cold to wear the shoes I brought to wear with this!! LOL I opted for my tennis shoes instead! Link is ambushed by Mario and Luigi! I wrote pretty much everything I needed ...

Hello from MTAC 2007!

Relaxing in the room here at MTAC for a moment. So far it's been pretty good. My only complaint about the con itself was finding out "no weapons allowed" just as we got to the door of the dealer's room - after standing in line for 30 minutes to get there. They said I could check my sword (my fragile Utena sword -- I don't trust anyone to handle it but ...

Some Utena progress pics

I haven't taken a lot of progress pics of Utena, but here's a couple I have. Here's the new shoes and socks finished: And here's my sword hilt, ready for casting:

Pink Belle progress, and Utena upates

It's almost done; should finish it tonight. I ran out of pink thread last night, so I'm going to have to get more today. I wasn't originally going to make the cloak to go with the dress, but I had this velvet laying around - I picked it up in Nashville several months ago, because it was on the clearance table for something like $2 a yard. Friday I randomly decided, ...

Utena updates

I got all my Utena pieces cut out today. I used this Vogue pattern - I just used the basic jacket pieces, lengthened them and widened them at the bottom. I'm happy with it so far. It needs to be taken in, and the bottom pieces need reshaped a little (I cut extra wide, so i would have enough, and it's too wide in a few places!) - I think ...

bouncing from one project to the next

I got a base necklace for my necklace pieces... I haven't figured out how to attach them yet, but they look great just sitting around it on the table LOL I cut out the pattern for my belt. Dad came up with a pattern on the computer last night - he took the dimensions of my regular ANH belt, and slightly curved it, so it fits a little more snugly ...

Costume & Convention Plans

Weekend after next is St Patrick's Day; we're planning on going to Atlanta again for their big parade, with the 501st/RL. I'm - hopefully - wearing Queen Amidala, the parade dress. After the mixup last year I'm a little skittish about things falling through again. On top of that, a bunch of our local members have decided not to go. We're still going; I'm just not all that excited ...
