Painting my wardrobe

We had two date nights and lots of painting this past weekend. Friday we saw Wreck-it Ralph, and Saturday we saw Skyfall. Both really good! Saturday morning I got up and painted myself orange for Ahsoka, and we headed to Memphis Comic and Fantasy Con. We had a really great time though we didn't take any pics; we did come home and do a photoshoot of Ahsoka so I've finally ...

Housework, and a Wardrobe

This weekend was spent cleaning the garage, something that has been much-needed for a while. Saturday we pulled everything into the driveway to start organizing it. It was hilarious to watch people drive by reaaaaal slow, thinking it was a garage sale LOL We built a new shelf for all of our bins! We got it mostly done on saturday, but it suddenly started to rain... so we had to ...

Office Space

So this morning, laying in bed, 5:30 AM, I had a brainstorm about my sewing room. It's cluttered. It's a mess. I have no space. It's been a disaster area since Dragoncon - I attempted to unpack in there, got halfway through and ended up with stuff strewn everywhere. On top of going through to find stuff to sell, it's a mess. Beyond the mess, it's not really well organized. I ...

A FAQ: Costume Storage

A question I get asked a lot - understandably! - is how I keep & store so many costumes. (If you've stumbled on my site from elsewhere, I have a LOT of costumes.) I can tell you figuring out how to store them all isn't easy, especially when I also have a husband who costumes and all the geeky stuff we collect. Let me start at the beginning, and I'll ...

Cleaning my office

Chase helped me tackle the closet in my office yesterday. While I've cleaned and reorganized my office in the past few months, the closet I haven't messed with since before dragoncon last year. I have 11 bins shoved in there, and 5 of them just had various scraps of random stuff in them. Chase helped me pull all the bins out and go through them and fold things I wanted to keep. ...

Panorama of my Sewing Room

Cleaned up my office last night since I had bridesmaids coming over to try on their dresses I had altered. It's definitely grown more cluttered since I started out with one bookshelf and a desk! I just have too much stuff and nowhere else to put it (*). (*) - I really need to clean stuff out and get rid of some stuff. I've got so much fabric, and things like shoes ...

Cleaning my Sewing Room, etc

Still working on getting my sewing room straightened up and organized. Chase put my new shelves up last night, so I put my bead jars on them - this was the plan from the start, but it took me 2 years to finally get around to getting the shelves. I think I might get one more small one, because I have more beads that could use jars, too. I also got ...

Sewing room + hogwarts robe

my office is back to being clean after finishing Kevin's christmas present (outside of attaching the patch.) It went so quick! I'm really pleased with it. And then Chase hung a few things up in my office - the 2 Adam Hughes prints he got me for my birthday a few years ago, and my Mike Mayhew Ms Marvel sketch and Matt Busch Beatles print. The last two I've been wanting ...

my workspaces over the years

I was cutting fabric on the floor of my office last night, and it got me thinking of my old workspace at my parent's house (where I had a table to cut fabric). I thought I'd post them all. From 2001-2008 I worked out of the dining room at my parent's house. I took it over! (sorry mom) I don't have a good solid pic of it, but here's a ...

Sewing Room updates

I worked on my office last night, mostly organizing my patterns. I had too many that were in large ziplock baggies so I spent the evening squishing pattern pieces into my usual smaller baggies. Then I put them all away in my new bench! They didn't all fit, though :( But I got the majority of them in there. They were supposed to be split up like this: 1st drawer - ...
